A large scale government organisation is seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect to provide architectural oversight and strategic direction across a complex digital estate. This role sits at the centre of digital governance, ensuring that technical designs and project delivery align to organisational strategy, standards and principles.
This is not a delivery or implementation role. The value here is leadership, assurance and the ability to turn business needs into clear technical direction.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead architectural governance across multiple digital programmes and services
Maintain and develop architectural principles, standards and related documentation
Translate business requirements into clear and sustainable technical designs
Review and assure solution designs produced by delivery teams and suppliers
Provide guidance to senior stakeholders on risk, complexity, security and best practice
Contribute to the ongoing development of digital strategy and roadmap
Hands on background as an Enterprise, Solution, Technical or Applications Architect
Experience working within architecture governance or design assurance
Ability to write, review and maintain technical and strategic documentation
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence at senior level
ISEB certification plus one of ITIL, IT4IT or COBIT
Experience working within secure or regulated environments
Familiarity with public sector, defence or highly structured organisations
Working with or leading strategic supplier or outsource partners
High level influence over digital direction and design standards
Long term programme of national significance
