Job Title: Die-Sink EDM Machinist Location: Malvern Pay Range: £32,000 - £35,000 Shift: Days Contract Type: Permanent My client, a dynamic organisation involved in precision tooling and injection mould manufacturing, is looking for a skilled Die-Sink EDM Machinist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and optimising die-sink (sinker) EDM machines to produce high-precision tooling, electrodes, and critical components. You will be expected to manufacture components to exacting standards, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficient production. Key Responsibilities - Die-Sink EDM Program and operate die-sink EDM machines (Mitsubishi) using engineering drawings and CAM outputs. Competent in defining problems, collecting data, and forming valid conclusions. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Experience with Kaizen/lean manufacturing techniques. Adaptable, resilient, and able to work in changing environments. Good communication skills and general computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook). Understanding of customer expectations, quality standards, and the cost of failure. Proven experience operating sinker EDM machines (typically 3-5 years). Knowledge of SolidWorks and basic CAM programming for EDM (or ability to edit programs). Skilled in hand finishing and electrode dressing (grinding, hand tools). Exposure to Wire EDM (Esprit), CNC milling/grinding, or CMM metrology is advantageous. Experience / Education Previous experience within injection mould manufacturing required. 3 years relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
