About the role: The shore-based Maritime Engineering Manager will play a key role in sustaining the MSSC's offshore vessels which provide sea-going experiences for cadets (aged 12-18) and in ensuring the safety of all personnel on board. The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the vessels' engineer officers with the engineering management and maintenance needs of MSSC's offshore vessels. Responsibilities: Providing day-to-day support in identifying defects and safety shortcomings, determining solutions, assisting in rectification or organising cost effective professional repairs at advantageous prices and obtaining replacement parts. Producing, overseeing and tracking (technically and financially) the winter maintenance work packages for the fleet. Progressive development of MSSC's Safety Management System & Electronic Planned Maintenance System, related to the technical running and management of each offshore vessel. Satisfactory DBS check or equivalent (arranged by MSSC if not already held). Ability and willingness to work at sea aboard MSSC vessels both during maintenance prior to the training season and as a relief engineer officer during the sailing season. Health and fitness necessary to obtain ENG1 / ML5 medical certification. Qualifications and Experience Engineer with appropriate experience and qualifications for operation up to Area Category 0 under the Small Commercial Vessel Code. Suitable examples include: MCA AEC2; Small Vessel Chief Engineer Other equivalent qualifications will be considered. Experience in both seagoing and shore support roles in the maritime sector. Areas of experience should include safety, equipment operation, maintenance, refit planning and execution. Experience using IT including third-party electronic planned maintenance management systems to support maintenance planning. Fluency with Office 365 core applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Evidence of effective liaison and strong working relationships with third parties, such as ship and shore staff, external authorities, suppliers and contractors. Senior Data Engineer - Azure Data - Burton-on-Trent - Permanent - Hybrid Salary - £60,000 - £67,000 per annum This role requires 1 day / week in Burton-on-Trent, with hybrid working arrangements. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic IT team, based in Burton-on-Trent. The Senior Data Engineer will come on board to support the Strategic Data Manager in establishing and managing an efficient Business Intelligence technical service. Assisting in the advancement of our cloud-based data platforms, providing options for timely processing and cost-efficient solutions. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to be based in their office in Pontefract to lead the service delivery within the Yorkshire and North East region, managing a team of office based and home-based Social Work Assistants providing advice and support to former Miners and their dependents. Role Purpose Responsibility for the professional leadership and management of service delivery within the regional personal welfare team. The role also involves promoting the service locally and developing partnerships with other agencies for the benefit of the client group. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the personal welfare team for the Yorkshire and North East region to provide a high quality, professional, outcomes focused service for former Miners and their dependents. Ensure the effective management of casework across the team including case allocation and management. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential: Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration. Experience of leading / managing a team in a social care setting with the ability to manage and effectively prioritise caseloads, work with integrity and professionalism and work under pressure. Experience of community based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services. Experience of implementing systems and processes and facilitating change. Experience of contributing to the development and updating of policies and practice in line with legislative changes and good practice. Good working knowledge of welfare benefits system. Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their Carers within the community setting. Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly in relation to older people, mental health and disability. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
