Site Agent Marine Projects

Location: Across Scotland - as is the nature of developments within the marine sector, you'll be required to work 'away from home' in order to lead/manage these projects.

We re looking for a capable and practical Site Agent with solid experience in marine or coastal engineering to take a leading role on a range of challenging shoreline and harbour projects across Scotland - including piers, jetties, slipways, harbours, and sea defences.

This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable coordinating site operations in remote coastal locations. You ll be at the heart of daily project delivery, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

Role Overview
As Site Agent, you ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of marine construction sites, providing clear direction to teams, maintaining safe systems of work and ensuring high standards of workmanship. You ll work closely with the project team to support planning, problem-solving and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate site activities on marine civil engineering projects

  • Manage site staff, subcontractors and suppliers

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards

  • Monitor progress, productivity, and resource requirements

  • Contribute to short-term programming and method planning

  • Maintain site records, reporting, and communication with the wider project team

  • Support risk assessments, permits, and temporary works processes

  • Help maintain strong relationships with clients and local stakeholders

About You

  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer on marine or coastal engineering projects marine experience is essential

  • Strong understanding of marine working conditions, including tidal constraints and specialist plant

  • Confident leading teams and coordinating complex site operations

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

  • Willing to work for extended periods at remote locations across Scotland

  • Full UK driving licence
