A local private school in Oxfordshire is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join its dedicated catering team. Working closely with the Head Chef, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for pupils and staff, while ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and serving daily menus.
- Supervise kitchen staff and support their training and development.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Contribute to menu development, incorporating fresh, seasonal, and healthy ingredients.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Support catering for special events, functions, and dietary requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong background as a Chef de Partie.
- Passionate about producing fresh, healthy, and balanced meals.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
Contract Options
- 44 weeks (term-time): Ideal for those seeking school holidays off.
- 52 weeks (full year): Suitable for candidates seeking year-round employment.
