Job Title: Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: Remote - Open to candidates throughout the UK
Salary: 60,000- 70,000 + Excellent Benefits

We're working with a reputable environmental consultancy to appoint a seasoned Principal Air Quality Consultant who will help expand and elevate their national air quality capability.

This is an outstanding chance for a commercially focused air quality expert to step into a high-level position, blending technical delivery with strategic leadership and business development in a supportive, progressive organisation.



The Role

In this senior position, you will oversee the delivery of complex air quality and dispersion modelling projects across the UK. You'll provide high-level guidance on major assignments, strengthen client relationships, and play a key part in the team's continued growth. You'll collaborate closely with clients, regulators, and planning authorities to deliver authoritative, impactful technical solutions while helping develop and mentor a growing team of consultants.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate significant air quality and dispersion modelling projects

  • Offer specialist technical expertise for EIAs and wider environmental assessments

  • Build and maintain lasting client relationships and generate new business opportunities

  • Produce high-quality proposals, bids, and commercial plans

  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate team members

  • Work effectively with regulators, planning bodies, and multi-disciplinary project teams



About You

  • At least 8 years' experience in air quality consultancy or a similar regulatory field

  • Strong technical skills with ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance

  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management

  • Confident leadership abilities and experience supporting and guiding teams

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Chemistry, or a related field

  • Chartered status (CEnv / IAQM) is an advantage

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and commercial awareness
