TKMS ATLAS UK is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value submarine systems projects for the Royal Navy and international customers. About the RoleAs a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering technically demanding projects from early concept and design definition through to final test, acceptance, and entry into service. You will act as the primary customer-facing representative for your project and will ensure delivery to agreed cost, time and performance requirements.
This role involves leadership, commercial management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, supply chain, operations, and commercial teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of complex technical products throughout their full lifecycle.
Define project structures, plans, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
Build and manage the project team and key subcontractor work packages.
Ensure robust risk, opportunity, quality, security, and trade control management.
Maintain accurate project controls including planning, monitoring, reporting and lifecycle management.
Manage gate reviews, contract deliverables, and milestone achievement.
Ensure contract alignment with project goals and optimise cash flow.
Represent the business to customers, suppliers, partners, and government stakeholders - including international engagement.
Provide clear reporting to internal senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Support bid activity: stakeholder management, WBS/OBS creation, customer negotiations, risk frameworks, and PM documentation.
Proven experience delivering complex technical or engineering projects.
Strong organisational, leadership, and team-management capabilities.
Ability to lead diverse multi-disciplinary teams and manage supplier relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills - including senior stakeholder engagement.
Commercial awareness, including understanding of contractual frameworks.
Experience in defence, naval systems, aerospace, or other high-end technical industries.
Managing projects with significant financial or strategic value.
Working knowledge of advanced engineering or defence technologies.
Self-motivated and driven to deliver.
Able to lead with confidence and integrity.

Comfortable working under pressure on multifaceted, challenging programmes.
