Apprentice Welding Fabricator, location Heckmondwike 15,704 to 20,800, age dependent, 40 hours per week (early finish on a Friday), to be enrolled on a apprenticeship scheme at college, Permanent Apprenticeship opportunity.

A well-established engineering business is looking to recruit an Apprentice Welding Fabricator to join its workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career in welding and fabrication within a supportive, hands-on environment.

As an Apprentice Welding Fabricator, you will work alongside experienced fabricators and welders while developing practical and technical skills. You'll be trained to read drawings, prepare materials, and produce high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities of the Apprentice Welder fabricator position

  • Learn MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • Assist in the fabrication of components using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
  • Use workshop machinery including press brake, guillotine, drills, and saws
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Work to engineering drawings and quality standards

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Keen interest in welding, fabrication, or engineering
  • Practical mindset and willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail and work ethic
  • Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English preferred, but not essential
