Job Description

The Education Specialist (TES) is working in partnership with an alternative provision in Tameside to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher. This is a full-time position on a perm basis, beginning in November 2025.

About the Role:

  • Full teaching responsibility for Design Technology
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our pupils.
  • Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with SEMH needs.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching methods to ensure effective learning.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and high expectations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Support students with coursework, practical skills, and exam preparation

Who We re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Experience teaching Product Design up to KS4
  • A strong understanding of the current DT curriculum
  • Passion for design, creativity, and student achievement
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply
