Pre-Press Operator / Print Support Location: Castleford Salary: DOE Company: A large packaging and labels client. Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a pre-press operator to join a leading organisation. You will be responsible for assisting full job strip out. Full line support in the assistance in changing the press over. Ensure all lines are prepared in all aspects to assist in achieving daily/weekly plan. Quality checking regularly to ensure product meets required standards, dealing with any problems Check inks and varnish numbers, get ready for job Demount, file and clean plates and cylinders Manufacture printing plates and screens in line with APS requirements Reclamation of silk-screens for re-use across the business Monitor consumable stocks. Allocate plates and screens to relevant departments in line with APS requirements. Ensure all machinery is cleaned and maintained in accordance with manufacturers specifications. Remove all bespoke items from press. Configuration change. Load shafts & mag base, cylinders into press and removal after use. Foiling unit into press. Clean all trolleys (wash-up) daily. Support the Wash & Build and Plate Bending / Mounting area Requirements: Experience working within a packaging and/or self-adhesive labels manufacturer - preferable but not essential. Experience within print assistant / press support operative. Experience of a similar role within a fast-moving label printer / FMCG environment. Good organisational and time management skills with a flexible attitude & a team player. Ability to stay calm under pressure and have good problem-solving skills working to a high standard. You ll work on the triple shift pattern on a weekly rotating basis. The Role Operate and maintain KBA lithographic printing presses to ensure the production of high-quality print. Based from their Northants HQ, it s a great opportunity to join a very skilled printing team who have achieved BRC AA grade certification. As a Flexographic Print Minder, you will manage the printing of flexographic self-adhesive labels on various materials, as well as linerless labels. They will provide full initial & ongoing training on all areas of their Production equipment, but demonstrable experience of running Flexo prining presses is essential, as they currently have a range of 7 state-of-the-art Edale printing presses in operation within their flexographic printing division, including 2 x FL1 promotional label presses, 4 x FL3 Flexo label printing presses and a Graphium Digital-Flexo Hybrid press. Responsibilities: Operate flexographic printing press as required to print self-adhesive and linerless labels. Organise systems to ensure all jobs for print shift are ready. Manage print and colour consistency, updating colour standard documentation. Assist in the planning of print trials for new packaging projects Ensure daily schedules are met.
