FP&A Finance Business Partner
Based: Bolton (hybrid 2 days office, 3 home)
Salary: up to £50k + bonus + great benefits + opportunities for growth
Whitaker Smith are exclusively working for a rapidly expanding PE backed business in Bolton looking for a commercial FP&A Business Partner in a newly created role. This position will report directly to the Group CFO offering a fantastic opportunity for development & progression whilst gaining board level exposure. This is a high-impact role within the team partnering with senior leaders across the business, own planning & forecasting, building robust models & creating board quality material. This role is not just about numbers but truly understanding the business, identifying trends & opportunities, influencing decisions and implementing FP&A utilizing AI across the business
Role:
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, 3-year and longer-term strategic planning processes
- Own and continuously improve the group cash flow model, including scenario analysis
- Maintain clear view of revenue, margin, cost, profitability & cash performance
- Drive better use of systems, automation and AI tools to improve forecasting, reporting, analysis and overall finance productivity.
- Build, maintain and enhance high-quality commercial models to support pricing, investment decisions, business cases and strategic initiatives.
- Produce insightful monthly trading reports with clear commentary on performance, drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare board and executive materials that are concise, accurate, commercially relevant and decision-oriented.
- Partner with leaders across the business to challenge assumptions, improve understanding of performance and support better decision-making.
- Identify trends, issues and opportunities early, using data, judgement and curiosity to get to the real story behind the numbers.
- Support the CFO in building a high-value FP&A capability that is seen as a true business partner across the business
Experience:
- At least 3 years experience in an FP&A / Commercial / Analytical role with a genuine interest of how businesses create value
- Experience using AI within an FP&A capacity - clear interest in using new tools
- Highly analytical & commercial whilst being intellectually curious
- Confident operating at board level, influencing senior stakeholders
This role will be suitable for someone studying CIMA OR someone AAT/QBE - there is no qualification required but any further studies could be funded
