CSR Group
Credit Controller
CSR Group Portadown, County Armagh
Credit Controller - Construction Sector (Where Cashflow Is King, but Panic Is Optional) If you've ever looked at a construction payment schedule and thought, "Yes, I do understand this mystical document," then congratulations - you may be one of the chosen few. And we'd very much like to meet you. WHO ARE WE? We're a well-established construction business delivering long-term, stable framework contracts across the public sector and local government - meaning no rollercoaster boom-and-bust cycles, no nail-biting over speculative projects, and far fewer 3am cold sweats about cashflow. (We can't promise none, but you're a credit controller - a little adrenaline is practically part of the job description.) ABOUT YOU You'll be the custodian of our cash, expertly managing accounts receivable and ensuring the money arrives when it should (even if that occasionally requires Jedi-level persuasion). You'll handle everything from applications for payment and retentions to CIS queries and the delicate art of reminding quantity surveyors that "the cheque's in the post" stopped being funny in 1998. What You'll Do Chase and collect outstanding debt with persistence, charm, and the occasional steely glare over email. Build good relationships with clients and project teams, decoding queries before they turn into disputes. Assess creditworthiness and set realistic credit limits - because trusting blindly is for dating shows, not construction finance. Keep the sales ledger immaculate, post receipts, issue invoices/credits, and document everything (your future self will thank you). Produce clear reports on aged debt and credit risk for management - ideally the kind that lead to nods of approval. Lead on debt recovery where needed, knowing when to negotiate and when to escalate. What You Bring Experience in credit control - ideally within construction or civil engineering - along with a solid grip on industry payment quirks like applications, retentions, and CIS. You'll be confident, organised, analytical, unflappable, and fluent in Excel (yes, the real functions). CICM qualifications are a bonus but not mandatory. If you enjoy bringing order to chaos, take pride in spotless ledgers, and want a stable long-term role with real impact - apply today. Your future team (and our cashflow) will thank you.
