Job Title: Die-Sink EDM Machinist Location: Malvern Pay Range: £32,000 - £35,000 Shift: Days Contract Type: Permanent My client, a dynamic organisation involved in precision tooling and injection mould manufacturing, is looking for a skilled Die-Sink EDM Machinist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and optimising die-sink (sinker) EDM machines to produce high-precision tooling, electrodes, and critical components. You will be expected to manufacture components to exacting standards, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficient production. Key Responsibilities - Die-Sink EDM Program and operate die-sink EDM machines (Mitsubishi) using engineering drawings and CAM outputs. Produce, dress, and maintain electrodes; select correct electrode materials and process parameters. Set up workpieces, align electrodes, set spark gaps, select pulse settings, and monitor dielectric conditions. Bench-fit tooling assemblies using grinding and polishing techniques. Carry out first-off inspection, produce process documentation, and maintain machine logs. Perform preventative maintenance and basic fault-finding on EDM machines and associated equipment. Collaborate with toolroom engineers on electrode design and erosion strategies. Qualifications & Requirements - Die-Sink EDM Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings, including GD&T. Competent in defining problems, collecting data, and forming valid conclusions. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Experience with Kaizen/lean manufacturing techniques. Adaptable, resilient, and able to work in changing environments. Good communication skills and general computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook). Understanding of customer expectations, quality standards, and the cost of failure. Proven experience operating sinker EDM machines (typically 3-5 years). Knowledge of SolidWorks and basic CAM programming for EDM (or ability to edit programs). Skilled in hand finishing and electrode dressing (grinding, hand tools). Exposure to Wire EDM (Esprit), CNC milling/grinding, or CMM metrology is advantageous. Experience / Education Previous experience within injection mould manufacturing required. 3 years relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Toolmaker Salary: £40,000 to £43,000 Hours: 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Type: Permanent We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join a busy toolroom supporting high volume manufacturing of plumbing and water control products. This position focuses on precision repair, service and maintenance of mould tools, press tools and related components used across production. You will be working in a skilled team handling a high volume of repair tasks and contributing directly to product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Tool Technician Based in Wotton, Surrey (Own transport is required due to Rural location) Monday - Friday / 8am - 4.30pm The Tool technician is tasked with supporting the production department daily, based in the tool room. Working with other team members cleaning and servicing of Injection moulding tools with timely turnaround to maintain production schedules. The cleaning and servicing of the injection moulding tools requires good attention to detail and quality of workmanship that are vital to this role. What You'll Be Doing The Tooling technician will be servicing and cleaning injection mould tools, stripping them down for cleaning, inspecting for issues and reporting any found, reassembling the tools after servicing, and returning the tools to the production department. On occasion other responsibilities for the repair, maintenance, and calibration of tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments may be required Daily servicing & cleaning of mould tools in the tool room or in the factory. Carrying out the repairs, modifications and servicing of injection moulding tools and other associated tooling. Document service & repair work by completing electronic records, including photographs of issues documented. At times support production by completing cleans or repairs in the clean room factory. To carry out, cleaning and servicing on other toolroom and production equipment as required from time to time. Assist in equipment repairs and breakdown if required. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment. What You'll Bring You will hold a C&G's, NVQ or Apprenticeship trained Solid experience in mechanical assembly & disassembly and basic wiring. Experience of Manual and CNC machine tools to include all or some of the following: Surface Grinder, CNC, VMC, Milling and Centre Lathe Mechanical Engineering / toolmaker apprenticeship, with experience in injection molding tools although not essential. High precision injection tooling, polishing, and finishing experience is desirable. Hot runner experience and multi-cavity high is also advantageous Be able to read and understand 2D component Drawings, experience with wiring drawings also advantageous Core Computer skills using email, excel and word documents. Work in a small team with good communication & co-operation Ability to work under pressure and keep to deadlines. Toolroom Machinist Location: Minworth Contract: Permanent We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our clients growing team in Minworth. A CNC Miller is predominantly involved in the manufacture of Plastic Injection Mould tools but also Jigs, Fixtures and gauges utilizing Hurco milling machines. It would be helpful if you can programme Hurco machines. There is opportunity for you to develop your skills in off-line 3-axis CAM cutter path creation and use other CNC machinery. You will be expected to accurately Set up work and cutters and program CNC machines efficiently and effectively to producing finished work that is checked by yourself to time set deadlines. You must adhere to all machine maintenance and machine cleanliness procedures. This requires the application of a broad range of activities including the interpretation of Engineering drawings and technical instructions and the use of hand, machine and automated computer controlled machine tools and measuring equipment.
