We are currently seeking a Technical Lead who is passionate about innovative technology to play a major role in the leadership, management and expansion of applied research, innovation and knowledge transfer in composite design, processing and testing. The postholder will lead and develop a team of engineers, scientists and technicians in the strategic direction and delivery of multiple concurrent composite projects across AMIC. This requires managing diverse composite manufacturing processes and validation methodologies. They will deliver key projects, develop regional and international links, and secure partnerships and funding through working in collaboration with different technology areas, the wider sustainable polymer and composite team, technology providers, national technology centres, academia and industry, and they will support senior managers with a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification and delivery of new and novel materials & technology capabilities and strategies that will have a direct technical, economic and reputational benefit to AMIC, industry and Northern Ireland. About the person: Honours Degree, or equivalent, in related engineering discipline or a HND in a related discipline with substantial relevant experience working in a similar role.Substantial relevant experience managing multifaceted industrial-focused composite research & development projects on time and within budget.Demonstrated technical evidence in engineering and composite materials science through impactful outcomes.Evidence of in-depth expertise in composite processing and validation, including:Strategic oversight of multiple composite manufacturing processes (e.g. DFP, press moulding, autoclave, RTM, infusion, etc).Process validation methodologies and correlation between manufacturing, testing and simulation.Integration of digital technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques.Design for manufacture principles across composite materials and structures.Demonstrable experience leading process development, optimisation and implementation across multiple concurrent composite projects.Evidence of effective of collaborative working, team leadership and project leadership to deliver effective outcomes.Experience of building networks of industrial and research stakeholders with success in securing partnerships and/or funding. The Opportunity: SRUC is seeking an experienced Teaching Instructor in Horticulture to join our dynamic team within the Agriculture, Horticulture & Engineering Sciences department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator with a strong background in Horticulture to contribute to the development of future leaders in horticultural sciences. Based at SRUC's Elmwood Campus in Cupar, Fife, you will work with the Senior lecturer in the Horticulture department in contributing to the coordination & delivery of Horticulture Work Based Learning Programmes mainly at the Elmwood Campus but this may also include delivery at other SRUC campuses. You will deliver practical vocational skills training to Horticulture Work Based Learning students and external clients. You will also work with the Senior Lecturer, Work Based Learning Manager and administrators in the co-ordination and delivery of Modern Apprenticeships, in line with appropriate project and SRUC policies, procedures and SDS Operational Rules. Duties include: Delivering agricultural/horticulture education, training, instruction and assessment which will include practical vocational skills, observing relevant health and safety procedures. Have a student focused approach to teaching and learning and be able to engage students in a practical environment. Maintain and update training materials to meet current vocational standards, practice and legislation. Complete student recruitment & enrolment/registration documents for work-based learners. Carry out student assessment in accordance with Awarding Body standards at any SRUC campus. Maintaining appropriate records of attendance, teaching and assessment. Ensure all internal and external communications are answered in a timely, effective and customer focussed manner. Attend internal and external meetings as required. Effectively manage own workload and diary. Take part in continual professional development. QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will have relevant vocational qualifications at HND level (SCQF level 8) in a relevant subject, such as horticulture and/or have strong practical agricultural experience. Good people skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are also required. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently, and with other team members, to ensure that accurate results are delivered to agreed deadlines. R&D Senior Laboratory Technician This is a 12-month contract position located in Witney, OX29 0YL, with a salary of £29,505 per annum. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. As the Senior Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and validating analytical methods to support Extractables, Leachables, and Nitrosamine testing across pharmaceutical products and materials. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting risk assessments and analytical method development for E&L and Nitrosamines. Developing, validating, and transferring LC-MS and GC-MS methods in compliance with GMP and regulatory guidelines.
