I am currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity on behalf of my client, a growing manufacturing business based in South Cambridge, who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Executive. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, developing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities. As Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing accounts while actively identifying and developing new sales opportunities. You will play an important role in increasing account value, generating new business and supporting the wider sales and marketing team to drive continued growth. Key Responsibilities: Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Research and contact prospective customers to generate new business. Arrange and support meetings, demonstrations and follow-ups for the sales team. Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure the sales pipeline is kept up to date. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support targeted campaigns. Monitor competitor activity and report on market trends, pricing and product movements. Develop and maintain a referral scheme to encourage existing customers to recommend new business. Manage your own pipeline and proactively identify opportunities to increase sales and account value. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Proven experience in senior management roles with a strong focus on warehouse and logistics operations, automation, and Lean Six Sigma. Previous experience at GM, RGM or HOL level Expertise in automated warehouse systems, automated facilities and design. Strong financial acumen, budget management, and cost optimisation skills. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication abilities. Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive change and innovation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
