HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer Are you an experienced HGV Drainage Engineer looking for your next career move? Job Description: You will be responsible for driving and operating an HGV Class 2 Combi Unit You will be working for a variety of customers including commercial, domestic and water boards, maintaining the drainage network. Works will include jetting, interceptors, wet well cleaning and confined space work. Job Requirements: You must hold an HGV Class 2 license and CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). Previous experience of driving and operating combi units is essential. Willingness to undertake physical work associated with maintaining the drainage network. Positions are available at offices based in North London . The successful candidate will provide Health, safety, and environmental leadership , offering expert advice, training, and support across various power and electrical projects. Key Responsibilities: Ensure strict adherence to reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR , following guidance from the SHEQ Manager . Provide specialist advice on health, safety, and environmental policies and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Monitor health and safety standards applied by contractors, ensuring they meet contractual requirements and company policies. Ensure all site employees adhere to health and safety policies, procedures, and client requirements. Recommend disciplinary action where supervisory staff fail to meet safety responsibilities. Take appropriate action in cases of safety non-compliance on-site. Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel and visitors across operational sites and premises. Monitor the provision and effectiveness of welfare facilities . Promote and encourage the reporting of near misses to drive continuous improvement. Work across various project sites within the UK, as required by business needs. Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Senior SHEQ Advisor within construction, utilities, or civil engineering , ideally within the power sector . Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective people management and leadership abilities. A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset . Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. A tactful yet assertive manner with the ability to influence and challenge where necessary. Ability to deliver clear, confident, and engaging presentations . Strong organisational skills and attention to detail . Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. In-depth knowledge of health & safety legislation and the ability to interpret relevant laws and regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams . Qualifications & Requirements: NCRQ Level 6 / NVQ Level 6 / NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. Previous experience in the power utilities sector . Auditing accreditation for ISOs 9001, 14001 and 45001 (desirable). Familiarity with the application of SHEQ in a CDM2015 context (desirable) . EUSR or CSCS certification in General Health & Safety.
