I'm recruiting for a growing engineering business who design electromechanical products for use in harsh environments across the globe. They're looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer on a 6 month contract (high chance of extension) to take a few products through concept/R&D to prototype and release. The work involves designing BMS, low-voltage electronics and power supplies for use in ruggedized environments. ROLE: Power Electronics Engineer LOCATION: Stroud, Gloucestershire RATE: up to £75ph (Outside IR35) DURATION: 6 months Skills required for the role are: Knowledge of designing BMS Understanding of power electronics in harsh environments (heat, temp, pressure, shock) Experience and willingness to work in fast, dynamic R&D environment O&G, Electric vehicles, aerospace, avionics or autonomous vehicle industry exposure beneficial Although the role is Outside IR35, the work must be completed on-site 100% due to nature of the team and business. The role involves developing C/C++ and Python code that runs on Zephyr RTOS. Specific experience with Zephyr itself isn't essential, but candidates must have deep, hands-on experience with at least one other RTOS, be up-to-date with modern coding techniques and ideally come from a computer science background.
