Job Title: Phlebotomy Receptionist Location: Basildon SS14 Salary: 24,320 - 24,465 per annum Job Type: Full Time, 6 Months Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) We are looking to recruit a Phlebotomy Receptionist across Basildon and Southend University Hospital for a 6 months fixed term contract (Maternity Cover). As a Phlebotomy Receptionist, you will be responsible for: Greeting patients Booking patients Giving advice and information for specimens and samples Direct patients to appropriate areas of the hospital Providing general assistance to the phlebotomy team Providing a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone The Phlebotomy Service runs between 7.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. and will include a weekend rotation for Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday work; therefore, flexibility is essential. Responsibilities: Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the department. Check patients' details and what tests are requested; explain waiting and queuing arrangements to patients, and give notice of waiting times. Sign in all visitors to the department and notify the relevant person of the arrival of their visitor. Receive and make telephone calls on behalf of the Phlebotomy Department as required; divert calls and take messages, ensuring the accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery of messages. Other departmental administrative tasks About you: Essential Skills and Experience GCSE/ O level in Maths and English. IT skills, including Word and Excel. Good communication skills, written and spoken English language skills. A caring and professional attitude, together with the ability to work under pressure in all areas and take responsibility for own workload with good speed and accuracy. A good team worker. Ability to understand and comply with detailed processes and procedures. Job Title: Biomedical Scientist Team Manager- Haematology Location: Taunton Salary: 47,810 - 54,710 per annum Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Southwest Pathology Services (SPS) in Somerset has an exciting opportunity for a band 7 Team Manager who wants to lead the Haematology section in the hospital essential service laboratories (ESLs). We are seeking for an individual who is dedicated to providing a high-quality patient centric service and is enthusiastic about mentoring and sharing their knowledge. Band 7 Team Manager will be entitled to a discretionary team performance bonus payment worth up to 5% of salary per annum. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the BMS team across Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital ESLs as part of the highly effective Blood Sciences management team. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the 24/7 service and maintaining UKAS accreditation for the Haematology and Coagulation section and be responsible for line management, supervision and training of the excellent Biomedical Scientist team at SPS. Line management responsibility for a named group of Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners.
