The Role As a Senior Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for specifying, testing, validating, and qualifying newly developed power electronic products , including motor drives, SMPS, and DC-DC converters. Working as part of a cross-functional engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineers , as well as project management and product/quality teams. Key responsibilities include: Creating and executing New Product Integration (NPI) Validation and Verification test plans Defining validation test criteria, procedures, and methodologies Identifying, specifying, and building test environments and test setups Testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies, components, and circuits within power conversion systems Supporting product qualification and compliance activities Working with internal teams and external test laboratories when required Key Requirements Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a test, verification, or QA validation role at system level (HW/SW) Experience working with power electronic systems Experience with high-voltage systems (200V - 800V DC) is advantageous Experience of compliance testing such as EMC, vibration, IP ratings, and/or UL standards would be beneficial Strong practical and analytical engineering mindset Highly organised, proactive, and capable of working independently Good understanding of safe working practices and H&S Technical knowledge in: Switching power converters Circuit analysis Design of experiments (DoE) Quality management systems such as ISO 9001, TS16949, or ISO 26262 Product regulatory standards including EN1175, EN13849, UL0583, and EN12895 Additional Information Hybrid working: 4 days on-site/1 day from home Occasional travel to external test laboratories Clear career progression opportunities Opportunity to work on advanced power electronics technologies within a globally backed organisation Interested? Contractor required to manage RF Lab and the test equipment contained for a leading edge wireless/semiconductor client. Contractor will need background at Semiconductor company and be a strong electronic engineer with in depth RF experience. The role will be working and managing an RF Lab and the test equipment within. The main part of the contract role will involve working with the Test Equipment, building test stands, some PCB rework ( to SMD 0402 component size), and from time to time the contractor will need to be able to assist on some (not all) of these other tasks from time to time; PCB design/debug, measurement automation using Labview, some Pre Silicon Verification support with Cadence, IC Product experience useful) Contract will start ASAP until end of year initially, needs to be on site in Cambridgeshire, inside IR35.
