Data Modeller - Hybrid - Insurance - £70k - £80k pro rata - 6 month FTC We are looking for a Data Modeller with a specialism in the insurance sector who will report in to the Group Head of Data Management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining both the enterprise conceptual model and the enterprise logical model, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. The Data Modeller will serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, overs ight of all deliverables, ensure alignment with the Data Strategy and Data Policy, and steer the execution of the work plan. This role also provides strategic guidance on data governance practices and ensures the integration of technical efforts with business priorities. The Data Modeller will have specific expertise and experience in Master and Reference Data Management related to Insurance domains, specifically for Broker data, Policy data and Claims data; and likely Customer and Product data as part of the developing roadmap. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise conceptual and logical data models that accurately reflect business processes and insurance domain requirements. Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translating them into robust data models. Ensure data model consistency, integrity, and scalability across multiple insurance lines (eg, retail, specialist and reinsurance). Document data models, including entities, relationships, attributes, and business rules, using industry-standard modelling tools (eg, ERwin, PowerDesigner, Sparx EA). Adopt and ensure adherence to data modelling standards, best practices, and governance procedures within the organisation. Work closely with the enterprise architecture, solution architecture and the Process Excellence teams ensuring alignment and coordination of efforts and outcomes. Contribute to data lineage and metadata management initiatives. Contribute to Master and Reference Data Management initiatives. Support data quality work and provide guidance on data remediation efforts. E nsure data models comply with relevant standards and policies, and external regulations. Support the Group Head of Data Management in planning and execution. E nsure alignment with the Hiscox Data Strategy and Group Data Policy. Facilitate stakeholder and SME (Subject Matter Expert) workshops, building a valuable relationship with our end-user community. Collaborate with other team members to ensure quality and timely delivery. Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Experience Strong experience as a Data Modeller, working with technical and non-technical stakeholders across organisations Data Governance related experience and specific Data Model delivery within the Insurance sector. Master and Reference Data Management support experience is essential Relevant certifications (eg, CDMP, TOGAF, DAMA) are desirable Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skill This is a 6 month FTC paying pro rata £70-£80k for an initial 6 month period. 2 - 3 days a week onsite on clients London office will be required. The successful candidate will focus on improving data quality, identifying discrepancies, and making actionable recommendations to enhance HR processes and dashboards. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and analyse HR data quality, identifying discrepancies and areas for improvement. Provide recommendations to the HR and People Analytics teams to improve data integrity and reporting. Support the development and enhancement of HR dashboards and reporting tools. Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve workflow efficiency. Work closely with the team, fitting in seamlessly with existing staff, including Eden Smith. Required Experience & Skills: Hands-on experience with WorkDay and People/HR data. Strong data quality analysis skills. Ability to make data-driven recommendations. Experience with dashboard development and reporting tools. Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment. Additional Information: Contract: 6 months, with a chance of extension if performance is strong. Salary: £45-55k depending on experience.
