ROLE:HGV Technician - HGV MechanicLOCATION: CroydonSALARY: £21 per hourHOURS: 42.5 per week:14:00 to 23:00, Monday to Friday overtime paid at 130% with a rotating Saturday 7-12BENEFITS:Overtime: 130% overtime, 25 annual leave per year, Carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year. 1 x Life Assurance, Company Pensions contribution of up to 5%, Private Medical Insurance, Bonus £300 per month, incentives and commission schemes, Further Education Assistance ROLE: As an HGV Technician you are responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). You ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high safety and performance standard, identifying and repairing any mechanical or electrical issues. Perform detailed vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment. Assess issues related to engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other critical components of HGVs. Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension. Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks and replacements, and fluid top-ups. Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance vehicle reliability. Monitor and record vehicle performance to anticipate potential problems and schedule timely interventions. Communicate effectively with the Workshop Controller and the services team to explain repairs and maintenance needs. Keep abreast of the latest developments in HGV technology and repair techniques. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Current driving licence Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment specific to HGVs. Strong mechanical and electrical repair skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
