Senior Software Engineer Quant Analytics Platform Location: London - On site Salary: £100,000 - £110,000 A specialist insurance business is investing in its analytical software capability, building out a proprietary platform that underpins underwriting, exposure management and portfolio decision making. This role sits within a dedicated development team focused on the core modelling platform. The work centres on building and optimising calculation engines and data intensive systems used by actuarial and risk teams. This is not a traditional web based Back End role. The focus is on numerical modelling, large scale data processing and performance driven engineering within a commercial environment. You will work closely with actuarial, exposure management and project teams to translate complex modelling requirements into robust, production ready systems. Guidewire Developer Permanent Hybrid - 2 days in London £65,000 + 15% bonus A Guidewire Developer is required for a specialty insurer in the Lloyd's market, supporting the continued development and enhancement of their Claims platform as part of a broader technology transformation. About The Role: This role will sit within a growing engineering function focused on delivering scalable and efficient claims solutions using Guidewire. The business is currently in the process of migrating to Guidewire and would be looking for a developer to help them through the migration process and to configure the platform. You will play a key role in the development, configuration and optimisation of the Guidewire platform, working extensively with Gosu as the core programming language, alongside Java where required. This role requires a strong hands-on Gosu developer, comfortable building and customising Guidewire application. You will be involved in both the ongoing migration and the continuous improvement of the platform post-implementation. The role requires someone comfortable operating in a delivery-focused environment, working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and third parties to build and enhance claims functionality. This is a role for someone who can coordinate across vendors, product owners, and technical leads to ensure stability and smooth BAU support for business-critical systems. The Opportunity You will oversee applications such as Eclipse, Sequel Claims, Guidewire (Professional Risks), ImageRight, and NewGen. Your focus will be on ensuring these systems remain stable, incidents are resolved quickly, and releases are delivered seamlessly. This is not a hands-on technical role, but one that requires strong service management, vendor coordination, and insurance domain expertise, ideally within the London Market or Lloyds of London. You'll work closely with Engineering Delivery Leads (EDLs) , Product Owners, and offshore managed service providers (Coforge, NTTData, NewGen). The role sits within a product-centric model , meaning you'll align service management directly to application "products" rather than generic IT functions. Key Responsibilities Manage BAU support for core underwriting, claims, and document management applications. Act as the bridge between offshore vendors, Product Owners, and EDLs. Oversee high-priority incidents (P1/P2) and ensure timely resolution. Track defects, sprints, and releases using Azure DevOps . Apply ITIL-aligned service management practices via ServiceNow.
