I am looking for a Head of Major Incident & Incident Management to join a large-scale Technology Operations function in Belfast. This is a senior leadership role within a growing command hub environment, offering the opportunity to build and shape a high-impact operational capability. This position goes beyond day-to-day incident coordination. I am seeking someone who can define strategy, strengthen governance, and embed a modern, data-driven approach to service stability across a complex technology estate. You will lead a team of Major Incident Managers and Incident Managers, ensuring high-quality service restoration during critical incidents while driving continual improvement across the wider incident life cycle. Executive-level communication and stakeholder management will be a key part of the role. Key experience required: Strong background leading a Major Incident or Incident Management function Deep understanding of ITIL-aligned frameworks Advanced ServiceNow expertise, including optimisation and reporting Experience driving automation and AI adoption within operational environments Ability to deliver clear, confident communication during high-pressure incidents Proven experience operating within complex, Matrix-managed organisations Strong focus on data, KPIs, and reducing incident volumes You will act as the subject matter expert for Major Incident Management, chair technical bridges during critical outages, partner closely with Problem Management, and lead initiatives that reduce repeat incidents and improve overall resilience. This role combines strategic direction, hands-on technical expertise, and leadership of a talented AWS engineering team. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Lead and inspire a team of AWS engineers and architects. Define and deliver cloud adoption, migration, and optimisation strategies. Partner with stakeholders to ensure cloud initiatives align with business objectives. Technical Delivery Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient AWS architectures. Oversee deployment, monitoring, and optimisation of AWS environments. Perform AWS Well-Architected Reviews and enforce best practice compliance. Project & Team Management Manage project plans, resources, and budgets effectively. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members. Cards Solution Architect Location: Knutsford - 2 days a week in office Duration: 2-3 months Rate: £500 p/d Inside IR35 Role Description Seeking a Cards Solution Architect with experience in current account journeys, including loans and account switching. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions for complex core banking and current account challenges, ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, and secure. This role requires strong domain expertise in payments, core banking, and cards systems. You will work closely with stakeholders across business and technology, taking ownership of solution architecture for core banking programmes, and guiding integration strategies-balancing cloud adoption, automation, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide expertise in the Cards and Payments domain, particularly in card issuance and authorisation journeys. Lead design and technical architecture for loans, savings/current accounts, current account switching, and payments, with focus on scalability, resiliency, security, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and business analysts to align solutions with business requirements and risk controls for current accounts. Oversee architectural governance, producing design artefacts for privacy, records management, and risk. Advise business and product teams, support technical delivery, and drive innovation in the banking landscape. Evaluate and integrate vendor products, contribute to systems strategy, and automate operational processes to reduce manual intervention. Essential Expertise Strong knowledge of the current account and core banking landscape, payment schemes, and architecture paradigms (cloud, APIs, DevOps, security). Hands-on experience with workforce planning tools and reporting platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Tableau, Confluence). Familiarity with project delivery best practices.
