Right to Buy Officer Location: East London Rate: 20.91 per hour (umbrella) A Local Authority in East London is seeking an Assistant Right to Buy Officer to support the administration and delivery of its Right to Buy and Home Ownership services. Role Overview: You will assist in the smooth processing of Right to Buy (RTB) applications and other low-cost home ownership schemes, ensuring all procedures comply with relevant housing legislation and council policies. Key Responsibilities: Assist with developing and maintaining procedures for processing Right to Buy applications in line with the Housing Act 1985 (as amended). Support the Right to Buy Leasehold Officers in preparing documentation for council house sales, including checking applications for completeness, accuracy, and legal compliance. Carry out administrative duties for Cash Incentive Schemes, Shared Ownership staircasing, Rent to Mortgage, and other Low-Cost Home Ownership initiatives. Prepare recommendations for acceptance onto relevant schemes. Maintain accurate records and provide excellent administrative support to ensure efficient service delivery. Experience & Skills Required: Experience using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, databases, and Housing Management systems. Understanding of Part V of the Housing Act 1985 and its application to Right to Buy processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail. Previous experience in a housing or local government setting is desirable.

Building Repairs Surveyor - Location: South West London - Rate: 82.90 per hour (umbrella) A Housing Association in South West London is seeking an experienced Building Repairs Surveyor (Portfolio Surveyor) to join on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to play a key role in managing property maintenance, inspections, and contractor delivery across a diverse housing portfolio. Key Responsibilities Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects, and specify remedial works. Supervise contractors and ensure works are delivered on time, to quality standards, and within budget. Deliver planned maintenance programmes and manage works to void properties. Prepare basic construction drawings and draft specifications. Monitor budgets, ensuring value for money and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide expertise in both traditional and modern construction practices. Ensure compliance with leasehold service charge consultation requirements (Section 20). Assess properties using HHSRS guidance and manage risks effectively. Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and schedule of rates. Thorough understanding of construction methods, trades, and materials. Demonstrable experience in housing property maintenance. Experience managing planned works, voids, and contractor performance. Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities. Commitment to customer service and valuing diversity. Desirable Experience working in partnership with a social housing provider. Qualifications Higher level technical qualification (e.g. HND/C) in Building Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
