Test Automation Engineer (Active SC cleared) Location: London (Threadneedle Street) or Leeds Working Pattern: Hybrid - 50% Onsite Contract: Initial Contract Rate: £285 per day (Inside IR35) Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required Positions Available: 3 We are recruiting for multiple Test Automation Engineers to join a major transformation programme within the Bank of England. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale digital assurance programme, helping deliver robust automated testing solutions across critical banking technology platforms. Working within an Agile environment, you'll design, develop and maintain automation frameworks, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with developers, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks. Build and execute UI and API automation tests. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Investigate and resolve automation failures. Contribute to continuous improvements in automation strategy and tooling. Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams. Essential Skills Strong commercial experience with Selenium WebDriver . Java and/or Python programming. API Automation using Postman and/or SOAPUI . Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks. CI/CD using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions . Cucumber BDD. Agile delivery experience. Version control using Git. Highly Desirable Karate Framework. Microsoft Azure. Docker and Kubernetes. Performance and Security Testing. Test Data Management tools. Banking or Financial Services experience. Kafka, IBM MQ or ACE exposure. Requirements Active SC Clearance. Ability to attend either the London or Leeds office 50% of the time. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

This is a hands-on role focused on automation strategy, framework development, and delivering functional, API, integration, security and performance testing solutions. Performance Test Lead/Performance Engineer - SC Cleared Location: London or Leeds (50% onsite) Contract: 12 Months Rate: £300 per day Start: 1st October 2026 We're recruiting a Performance Test Lead to join a major transformation programme. This is a Performance Engineering role-not a traditional performance testing position.
