Highways Design Engineer Ipswich - 3 days per week on-site 6-month contract Inside IR35 We're looking for an experienced Highway Design Engineer to join a busy highways design team delivering improvements, maintenance schemes, and infrastructure upgrades across the region. This role will suit someone who enjoys taking projects from concept through to detailed design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering safe, compliant engineering solutions. Responsibilities Produce design packages, drawings, reports, and technical deliverables Organise and undertake site visits and surveys Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting internal quality standards Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety and Environmental requirements Assist with resource planning and coordination of multidisciplinary contributors Support and develop junior staff, including engineers and technicians Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop project objectives and design outcomes Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners Skills & Experience Incorporated Engineer or experienced engineer working toward IEng/CEng Solid experience in highway design and construction Strong commercial awareness in project delivery Knowledge of Local Highway Authority standards Experience supporting and developing junior team members Understanding of ASTA or similar programming/project tools Demonstrated ability to manage H&S and Environmental considerations in design Proficient with AutoCAD; drainage, alignment or traffic sign design software desirable Strong IT skills across Microsoft Excel, Word, and related tools Full UK/EEC driving licence ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
