We are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to work for one of our clients based in Burton on Trent. The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace. Due to the specialist nature of the products the work is both interesting and will include the assisting with all aspects of the purchasing function Working closely with colleagues and suppliers the main duties will include:- Dealing with suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and goods Ensuring that quotes are competitive and in line with budgets Sourcing alternative suppliers where necessary Placing orders with suppliers Maintaining a supplier database Progressing orders with suppliers to ensure that goods are received in a timely manner to prevent manufacturing delays Working with the engineering and manufacturing functions within the business to foresee and prevent any potential delays to manufacturing General purchasing administration The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a similar role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment and will have experience in some if not all of the following:- Buying/purchasing Expediting Purchasing administration Supplier liaison/management Order placement Sourcing suppliers Obtaining quotes In addition applicants will need to be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel etc) and will ideally have some experience of a working with a CRM and/or SAP/ERP system This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly well-established company with excellent future prospects for the right candidates. We are currently looking for experienced Fabricator/Welders to work for one of our clients in Burton on Trent The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace. Due to the specialist nature of the products the work is both interesting and varied and will involve the fabrication of large metal structures, working from engineering drawings, from base materials through to finished product and will include the following:- Marking out Metal preparation Cutting Bending Assembly Welding The work will mostly involve the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless steel and may involve some pipe work as well as plate. The ideal candidates must be experienced Fabricators ideally with some pipefitting experience. The ability to carry out MIG welding to a high standard is essential. Experience of TIG and MMA welding would also be useful. Previous experience of working on the fabrication of a wide range of material thicknesses is also required. In addition, the ability to carry out plating/fabrication activities such as cutting, rolling, bending etc and the ability to work from drawings will also be essential. We are currently looking for experienced Test Engineers to work for of our clients on a temp to perm basis The company is a well-respected world leader in the manufacturer of specialist electrical equipment for a variety of applications worldwide. Based in their workshop near Burton on Trent this Test Engineers role will involve working on the testing of the company s equipment. The main duties will include the following:- Perform functional and load testing on electrical equipment. Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Complete and maintain accurate testing documentation and associated paperwork. Collaborate with team members to meet production and testing deadlines. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical drawings. Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings. This Test Engineers role will require working both at the companies premises and also on site from time to time as required The successful candidates for this Test Engineers role will have a proven track record in a similar role and will have some if not all of the following:_ Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. High attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
