Fire Engineer (Developer Remedial Team) Working within the Building Safety Division, to deliver a major programme of external wall and internal building safety remedial work. Main Duties Deliver technical presentations to internal teams in appraising FRAEW and FRA documents and remedial works proposals. Manage the consultant team of surveyors appointed to assess buildings using PAS9980 FRAEW. Ensure compliance is achieved against all applicable standards including internal standards ensuring that all documentation, Quality Assurance evidence, and all supporting information to provide the 'Golden Thread' upon completion of the project. Qualifications and Experience In search of a fire engineer who already has or is close to achieving membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers. OR MIFire and MIFSM qualified . Require in depth knowledge of existing and emerging regulation and legislation. Working knowledge of PAS9980 FRAEWs and internal Type 1-4 Fire Risk Assessments compartmentation and door surveys. Experience of remedial / refurbishment works to external walls. Experience of remedial works to internal areas. Key Skills Strong ability to analyse reports and data. Able to appraise and understand Fire Risk Assessments. Ability to verbally communicate complex information to stakeholders in a simple and concise manner. Seeking a positive approach to the issues being presented. Able to prioritise objectives and mange own workload. Responsibilities Support and work with the building safety project team to develop project E.R's. Work with Technical, Construction and Commercial teams to review remedial solutions, designs and specifications and challenge the proposals from consultants and contractors. Peer review of third-party fire safety assessments including, Fire risk assessments, FRAEW PAS9980; Fire door surveys. Liaise with appointed consultant Fire Engineer, Clerk of Works and contractor to ensure QA and compliance checks are carried out and recorded. Due to a continued commitment to expanding their range for projects, they are looking to recruit an additional Town Planner who is able to work with their existing land and planning team. The Role The Town Planner will report to the Land / Planning Director and will be responsible for advising the land teams on all aspects of planning policy and development control affecting land acquisition. Responsibilities will include: Provide day to day planning advice to land teams primarily on residential schemes but also mixed-use developments. Identify and advise divisional land teams of potential development sites that may become available through the prevailing/emerging planning policy. Prepare Planning Reports on land to be acquired by the division identifying any planning/commercial risk. Formulate planning strategies in order to obtain a planning consent in a timely manner within an appropriate deadline that allows the division to deliver sales completions in accordance with forecasts and which maximizes commercial returns for the company. Negotiate with landowners, Local Authority officers and the community regarding residential development proposals. Also ensuring that they are commercially viable and capable of achieving a planning consent within a reasonable timescale. Negotiate S106 agreements with the Land Team as appropriate in accordance with the Company's requirements and advise the division of the commercial implications. Prepare and submit planning applications including planning conditions with accompanying scoping and screening opinions and the appropriate level of information to ensure the application is registered and processed by the Local Authority and compliant so that they are not capable of legal challenge. Manage expenditure and prepare budget costs for planning application/appeals including the appointment of Consultant teams and ensuring expenditure is within the agreed budget. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Relevant Town Planning Degree Experience of managing applications, gained within a consultancy, public sector or client side. Qualifications and Training Planning or Surveying Degree or above or equivalent is desirable RICS or RTPI The role would suit someone who is looking to accelerate their career in town planning by moving to work for a prestigious property developer who can excellent career progression.
