What will the Client Manager role involve? Managing a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited company clients. Preparing, reviewing and submitting statutory accounts and tax returns. Leading, mentoring and developing your own team of accountancy professionals. Reviewing work completed by team members and providing technical guidance and feedback. Ensuring client deadlines and service level agreements are consistently achieved. Supporting clients with tax planning and providing commercially focused advice. Advising clients on advisory areas including cashflow, budgeting and business performance. Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact. Leading year-end meetings and conducting client fee reviews. Liaising with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients. Supporting the onboarding of new clients and ensuring a smooth transition into the business. Contributing to the ongoing development and success of the wider practice. Demonstrating leadership behaviours aligned to the company values. Suitable Candidate for the Client Manager vacancy: ACCA, ACA, FMAAT or equivalent fully qualified accountant or tax advisor who holds a current professional body membership. Minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice environment. Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns for a varied client portfolio. Sound technical knowledge across accounts preparation, taxation and compliance. Experience managing client relationships and delivering advisory services. Previous leadership, mentoring or team supervision experience would be advantageous. Practical experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Dext or similar. Strong communication skills with the confidence to present complex information in a clear and practical manner. Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail. Additional benefits and information for the role of Client Manager: Salary of £53,500 - £58,000 depending on experience. Hybrid working with up to 2 days working from home. What will the Senior Accountant role involve? Preparing, sending and submitting accounts and tax returns for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Providing training, mentorship and technical guidance to the accounting team and wider business where appropriate. Checking and reviewing accounting and taxation work produced by the team, offering constructive feedback and support. Communicating with clients by phone, email, social media and in person, including chasing records where needed. Onboarding new clients into the portfolio, including initial bookkeeping and compliance handovers to the relevant department. Assessing and advising clients on their tax position, including tax efficiency and planning opportunities. Reviewing and advising clients on advisory areas such as cashflow, budgets and pricing, with further training provided on advisory systems. Completing, reviewing and preparing bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS where required. Preparing and delivering year-end client meetings and client fee reviews. Maintaining electronic filing of books and records, alongside client administration and records management. Acting as liaison between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to deal with and resolve queries. Managing ongoing professional development and learning, including any relevant CPD required by a professional body. Ensuring HMRC and Companies House statutory information is accurate and up to date. Suitable Candidate for the Senior Accountant vacancy: Full membership of a chartered professional body, such as AAT, ATT, ACCA or equivalent. Extensive practice experience, ideally 5+ years, overseeing a broad client base and delivering work directly in a dynamic environment. Strong experience preparing, reviewing and checking accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Experience working with client records and systems including Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and FreeAgent. Sound understanding and working knowledge of tax, with the confidence to advise clients and make practical recommendations. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel capability. Excellent time management, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to emerging priorities without compromising attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a straightforward and helpful way.
