Our client, an established UK organisation with a national footprint and a multi-year growth and change agenda, is seeking a superb Business Architect to design the business change it will take to get there. This is the work that comes before delivery: turning strategic intent into a defined set of changes, and making sure every major investment starts from a clear problem, a clear outcome and a credible view of the value. You will take initiatives from idea to investment decision, framing the problem or opportunity, laying out the options and putting a value on the outcomes before a programme is stood up. You will author the design the organisation builds from: business capability models, current and future state assessments, target operating models spanning people, process, technology, data and governance, and the roadmaps and blueprints that tie them to the investment portfolio. You'll map end-to-end customer experiences across physical and digital channels, work as one design team with Enterprise Architecture so that business and technology change are specified together, define the benefits at the outset and track them through to post-implementation review, and run the executive workshops and decision papers that let senior leaders choose with confidence. This is a contract-to-permanent appointment: an initial contract at a day rate, converting to a permanent position for the right person, with the permanent salary agreed at conversion. Hybrid working with regular time at a Yorkshire office. Must have the following - please do not apply without this: Several years in a business architecture, enterprise design or strategic transformation role Future-state operating models, business capability models and transformation roadmaps you authored yourself Large-scale change framed from strategy through to investment case, before mobilisation Business cases, value propositions and benefits tracking that stood up to Finance Worked alongside an Enterprise Architecture function as a peer Facilitated senior and executive groups and shifted decisions without line authority Strong analytical and systems thinking, able to put a complicated picture on a page Highly desirable: Experience in a customer-facing or multi-channel business Capability-based planning Portfolio prioritisation and enterprise planning Please do not apply if: You are a Solution or Technical Architect whose work has not included business architecture and operating model design You are a Business Analyst, Project Manager or Programme Manager looking for a first step into architecture You advise on architecture but do not author the capability maps, operating models and blueprints yourself You cannot show large-scale change taken from strategy to investment case You want a contract only and are not open to a permanent position
