Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Support Assistant. Darlington £14.24 per hour. Start date: Immediate. The Role and School This provision, based in Darlington has a great opportunity for a SEMH Support Assistant to support children and young people with SEMH learning needs. Working in this school as part of an established team, the desired SEMH Support Assistant will be working on a small group sized basis with pupils with SEND including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties as well as Attachment and Trauma. Requirements The requirements for the SEMH Support Assistant position are: Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children Experience working with people with SEND / Disabilities Comfortable with providing SEMH support as well as personal care Able to build positive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds Right to work in the UK Drive or be willing to use public transport. Start date: Immediate The School and Role We require a Psychology Graduate with experience of working with children to work in a specialist school in Stockton-on-Tees supporting pupils with special educational needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs.The Psychology Graduate would work in the capacity of a Teaching Assistant, providing vital support to both teachers and pupils. You will build positive relationships with pupils, and devise strategies to overcome barriers to learning, helping them to get the most out of their education. Requirements The desired Psychology Graduate will: Have a warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils. SEND Teacher. SDarlington. £130-£150 per day. Start date: Immedeate. The School and Role Working in schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. Opportunities for specialised subjects and general cover working on a supply basis. You will be part of a team who will engage the children in the absence of their teacher to ensure that they do not miss out on their education and the school or alternative provision runs smoothly. As a SEND Teacher you will work, day to day, short-term, long-term with the option for full and part-time positions. The specialist schools and provisions cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. With brilliant facilities, resources and a staff team who pride themselves on their child-centred approach to raise engagement on daily basis. Most schools and provisions have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous. Requirements To be considered for the role of SEND Teacher you will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism Ideally Maths and/or English. Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs. Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA s Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
