We are now recruiting for a reliable, organised and compassionate Relief Warden to provide cover across our sheltered housing schemes. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines resident support, housing management, administration and building safety responsibilities. While supporting residents is a key aspect of the position, the role also requires strong IT and administrative skills, with a significant amount of daily record keeping, communication and system usage. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable using computers, smartphones and digital systems and who can confidently manage both the practical and administrative aspects of the role. As our Relief Warden you will be responsible for: Responding to emergency calls and taking appropriate action. Carrying out resident wellbeing checks. Encouraging independence while identifying and reporting concerns. Supporting social activities and helping to create a welcoming community environment. Liaising with families, healthcare professionals and emergency services where required. Providing cover across Trust schemes as required. Conducting health and safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting and smoke alarms. Monitoring communal areas and reporting repairs or maintenance issues. Managing building security and contractor access. Showing vacant accommodation to prospective residents and assisting with lettings enquiries. Maintaining accurate resident records and daily diaries. Updating information on digital housing management systems. Using smartphones and computers to communicate, record information and complete routine administrative tasks. Ensuring compliance with Data Protection and confidentiality requirements. We are looking for someone who is: Comfortable using computers, smartphones and digital systems on a daily basis. Able to learn and confidently navigate multiple software systems. Organised and able to maintain accurate electronic records. An effective communicator with good written and verbal skills. Calm under pressure and able to respond appropriately in emergency situations. Friendly, professional and committed to supporting older people to live independently. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexible and willing to provide cover for annual leave and sickness, sometimes at short notice. Essential Requirements Good IT skills, including confidence using digital systems and mobile technology. Good literacy and numeracy skills. Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities. A positive, proactive and reliable approach to work. Desirable Experience working in sheltered housing, extra care, housing support or a similar environment. Understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Warden. You will play a key role in supporting our financial management, gaining experience across finance, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, resident accounts and finance administration. As our Finance Assistant you will: Process purchase and sales ledger transactions, including invoices, receipts and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely recording. Maintain supplier, customer, resident and financial records, resolving queries and discrepancies professionally. Support credit control activities, monitoring outstanding balances and assisting with income collection. Assist with bank, supplier and other account reconciliations, including petty cash and resident monies. Support the administration of resident personal accounts and expense records, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. Assist with month-end, year-end and audit preparation activities, including the production of supporting documentation. Maintain accurate data across finance systems and contribute to process improvements and efficiencies. Build positive working relationships with colleagues, residents, families, suppliers, local authorities and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, financial controls, data protection requirements and confidentiality standards. Provide general finance and administrative support and undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Finance. In order to be successful in this role you must have: Previous experience in finance administration, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, accounts administration or a similar role. Good standard of general education with strong literacy and numeracy skills. Confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Ability to manage confidential information sensitively and professionally. Good verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to undertake relevant training and development. Ability to work between 22.5 and 30 hours per week and primarily office-based. It would be great if you had: AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification or willingness to work towards an agreed finance qualification. Experience within a charity, housing, care or not-for-profit environment. Experience managing resident accounts, client monies, petty cash or personal expense records. Experience supporting audits, year-end processes or payment runs. Experience using finance, housing, care or CRM systems. Strong Excel skills including formulas, sorting and filtering. Ability to identify and suggest process improvements. Working Pattern The final working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate, subject to operational requirements.
