Deanston Cooper is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in the Blantyre office of a national Civil Engineering contractor on a variety of projects including roads, infrastructure, energy from waste, wind farm and battery storage. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your duties as Senior Quantity Surveyor will include: Prompt presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements. Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms. Prompt submission of estimate / tendering information to the client. Prompt presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements. Prompt presentation of weekly cost / value information, delivery schedules and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data. Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts. Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows. Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract Orders. Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts. Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements. Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc. Commercial support to the site and contracts management team. Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams. Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information. Projects up to 10 million in value are across the Central Belt and include roads, bridges, infrastructure, wind farms and substations. Your duties as Site Engineer will include: Providing engineering, technical skills and expertise to operatives, supervision and management Undertaking accurate setting out and the management of setting out in line with the project programme of works. Due to location of projects, applicants must be prepared to travel at least an hour to site each day. Your duties as Sub Agent will include: Driving construction phase of project Managing and supervising Site Engineering Supervising and monitoring the site labour force and sub-contractors Preparing risk assessments and method statements Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to Ensuring quality records necessary to meet quality requirements are maintained Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise Checking drawings and specifications Reviewing construction progress and performance Planning and prioritising construction resources (labour and plant) to support successful project execution Delivering project within programme and budget Applications for the role of Sub Agent are welcome from candidates with: Minimum HNC Civil Engineering Experience working at Section Engineer / Senior Engineer / Sub Agent level on a variety of civil engineering projects for another contractor Technical ability and good organisational skills Ability to focus on targets and practical solutions Good communication skills with all levels of the workforce
