Sales Manager - Trainee Are you seeking a career with potential Do you enjoy working with people Are you a graduate with 2 years industry experience Preston, Lancashire £30,000 basic DoE + performance bonus Monday-Friday (Some weekend work required with time off in lieu) The Role An established Luxury kitchen manufacturing business is looking to recruit an ambitious Sales Manager as part of its long-term succession planning. The business operates supplying kitchens into the residential sector, working with clients, developers, and Interior Designers supplying high-end kitchens to private clients, where service, presentation and relationship management are equally important. This isn't simply a role for somebody to manage a sales pipeline. The successful person will work closely with the existing Director, initially learning the business before progressively taking greater responsibility for the sales function. The intention is that, subject to performance and development, they will be capable of stepping into the senior sales leadership role within approximately two years. Key Responsibilities Support the Sales Director with the day-to-day leadership of the sales function. Manage and develop relationships with high-net-worth/private customers purchasing premium kitchens. Understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially viable proposals. Take ownership of significant sales opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order. Review sales pipeline, conversion, margin and order value. Support pricing and commercial negotiations while protecting margin. Develop existing key accounts and identify opportunities for additional revenue. Work closely with design, manufacturing, installation and customer-service teams to ensure promises made during the sales process can be delivered. Attend customer meetings, site visits and commercial reviews. Handle escalated customer issues professionally. Support, coach and increasingly manage members of the sales team. Improve sales processes, CRM discipline, forecasting and reporting. Produce accurate monthly sales forecasts. Contribute to annual sales budgets and growth plans. Develop sufficient commercial and leadership capability to assume responsibility for the sales function within approximately two years. Most importantly you will Build long-term commercial relationships rather than simply close transactions. Negotiate confidently Understand revenue, gross margin, and profitability, not just sales volume. Deal comfortably with private customers. Work effectively with manufacturing and operations.
