Senior Safety and CDM Consultant required to join a multi-disciplinary, professional services company that manage and deliver construction safety and business safety services to clients across the UK. Based in Birmingham, you will join the team to deliver high quality services for government organisations, leading developers, national infrastructure and blue-chip clients. Projects include demolition, education, environmental, highways, inner city builds, power and rail. This Senior Safety CDM Consultant position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with candidates ideally located within commutable distance of the Birmingham office. Duties Your duties will include maintaining workload through bidding and proposal writing and overseeing infrastructure projects for both current and prospective clients. Being responsible for the management and delivery of your project deliverables. Offering support and contributing ideas to innovative delivery methods You will work closely with the Birmingham team on projects and delivery as part of the national team. Qualifications Ideally hold or be working towards CMIOSH status or equivalent Ideally hold a degree or higher-level qualification in a relevant Health and Safety or Construction subject Experience in the following: Working in a consultancy environment delivering construction and business assurance services. Working with large scale projects in with experience that could include highways, infrastructure, power, rail and/or water. Delivering CDM duties as both the Principal Designer and the Client Delivering audits, inspections and management system reviews. Assisting with project set up for both new and existing clients. CDM Principal Designer / Construction Safety Consultant required to join an established architectural practice. The role combines design-phase health and safety leadership with on-site advisory responsibilities, supporting projects from early planning through to construction. You will act as Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015 while also attending construction sites to monitor compliance, provide guidance and promote a strong health and safety culture. This is a regional role primarily servicing clients across the North West. Key Responsibilities of CDM Principal Designer / Construction Safety Consultant Undertake the statutory duties of Principal Designer in accordance with CDM 2015 Plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase, ensuring risks are identified and controlled through design Advise clients on their legal duties and support them in meeting CDM requirements Prepare, review and coordinate Pre-Construction Information Liaise closely with design teams to eliminate or reduce foreseeable risks Carry out regular site visits to monitor health and safety standards and CDM compliance Provide practical health and safety advice to contractors and site teams Identify unsafe practices and support the implementation of corrective actions Review Construction Phase Plans and other key documentation Assist in the preparation and handover of Health and Safety Files Promote best practice and continuous improvement in health and safety performance Experience Demonstrable experience as a CDM Principal Designer and/or Construction Safety Consultant Background in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline Confident conducting site inspections and engaging with contractors Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple projects Qualifications Relevant professional membership (e.g. APS, IOSH, CIOB) desirable. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent preferred as a minimum with further relevant qualification beneficial. This CDM Principal Designer / Construction Safety Consultant role is paying 50,000- 60,000 plus pension.

Building Regulations Principal Designer required to join a multidisciplinary practice delivering integrated design and build solutions. This newly created role focuses on planning, managing, coordinating and monitoring Building Regulations compliance across projects. Projects cover new build, retrofit and adaptive reuse of both higher-risk and standard buildings. Duties will include: Providing expert advice on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations. Conducting plan checks and reviewing designs for compliance with Building Regulations. Attending client and design team meetings to offer professional advice. Inspecting properties and buildings at key design stages to ensure regulatory compliance. Preparing written reports (e.g., End of Design Stage Reports) and maintaining Building Regulations Trackers. Identifying new business opportunities and nurturing client relationships. Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality project outcomes. Experience: Technical Architect, Building Control or Architectural Technologist background. Experience within design management or delivering Building Regulations Principal Designer services. Excellent knowledge of the Building Regulations, codes and any other associated legislation. Exceptional client-facing skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Qualifications: A relevant qualification such as a HNC, HND, or a degree in a construction-related field, building control or building inspector field. Membership to RICS, CABE or CIOB is beneficial. Senior CDM Principal Designer required to join a multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy. You will be responsible for overseeing and delivering CDM duties across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, ranging from domestic to complex and high-profile. Sectors include commercial, education, healthcare, infrastructure and residential. You will plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate Health and Safety in pre-construction phases of projects; including identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks and ensuring designers carry out their duties. Duties include: Act as the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015. Carry out thorough reviews of site project information and construction drawings and identification of design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews. Provide CDM advice and support to Client Teams, advising clearly of their Duties, developing bespoke policies, procedures and documentation. Attend and co-ordinate Design and Project Meetings as required throughout projects. Visit project sites. Prepare, co-ordinate and distribute relevant Health and Safety information to other design and project team members. Review Construction Phase Plans. Oversee preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information. Qualifications NEBOSH Certificate (or higher) or equivalent health and safety qualification. Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH, APS, RIBA, ICE, CIOB, CABE). Experience Strong background in design or construction-related health and safety. Extensive experience acting as CDM Principal Designer on medium to large projects. Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and wider construction health and safety legislation.
