Job Description Purpose of Position As a warehouse manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day site management of the DPD Logistics operation. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Achieving Logistics department objectives in terms of productivity, Health & Safety and Quality Deliver outstanding service to our customers with a team driven to be the best they can be Provide the safest and healthiest environment in which your teams work Encourage a competitive environment with clearly set productivity and service level targets for your teams Manage the department through effective planning, reporting and cost controlFocus on customer needs and satisfaction Sets high standards for quality and quantity Monitors and maintains quality and productivity Establishes good relationships with external suppliers, customers and staff Builds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation Relates well to people at all levels Makes a strong personal impression on others Gains clear agreement and commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating Takes responsibility for actions, projects and people Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under his own direction Motivates and empowers others Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching Delegates work appropriately and fairly Monitors performance against deadlines and milestones Qualifications What we're looking for Experience in the logistics or distribution industry and proven ability in running large, fast paced, 24/7 operations with responsibility for a significant number of staff. You will be a confident communicator/presenter with the skills to lead and manage teams as well as influence strategy and liaise with our Senior Leaders. A person capable of decisive and effective decision-making in a time pressured environment. A passion for building and motivating high-performing teams. Someone that really enjoys resolving problems and demonstrates high levels of resilience, self motivation and flexibility.
