We are looking for: Solid hands-on experience with pipework, especially stainless steel, carbon steel and copper, including installation, repair, and modification A basic understanding of electrical isolators, switches, and fault-finding at a practical level Familiarity with low-pressure pneumatic systems, including valves and actuators With this foundation, the individual could then be developed internally to build more specialised skills specific to the plant. This would include working with glass pipework and glass components but can be learned on site with existing Maintenance Engineer. This approach would allow us to bring in someone with the right technical base while ensuring knowledge transfer from and building long-term the maintenance function. We have to stress the need for a broad maintenance background, the need to be able to plan, order and justify spends on materials and equipment etc. We would expect the successful candidate to have strong IT skills and understand the need for working within the food industry strict protocols and standards l - BRC, HACCP. This means only food grade materials can be used, strict PPE adherence and post maintenance sign off and sanitation.
