Requirements: Valid National Grid Person ticket (essential) Previous experience working as a Competent Person on National Grid, utilities, or civil engineering projects Sound knowledge of excavation safety, permit systems, and site health & safety procedures Ability to identify hazards and ensure compliance with National Grid standards Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team Duties: Carry out the duties of a Competent Person in accordance with National Grid procedures and project requirements Inspect and monitor excavations, ensuring they remain safe and compliant Ensure permits, risk assessments, and safe systems of work are followed Identify and report hazards, taking appropriate action to maintain a safe working environment Liaise with site management and operatives to ensure work is carried out safely Follow all National Grid safety standards and company procedures

Requirements: Valid National Grid Person ticket (essential) Valid CPCS or NPORS Slinger / Signaller qualification Previous experience supporting lifting operations on civil engineering or utilities projects Good understanding of lifting procedures, safe systems of work, and site health & safety requirements Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Duties: Safely sling and guide loads during lifting operations Communicate effectively with crane operators and the Lift Supervisor Ensure lifting accessories are inspected and used correctly Assist with the safe movement and positioning of materials around site Follow lifting plans, site procedures, and National Grid safety standards Maintain a safe working environment for all site personnel

Their expertise spans Solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, LED lighting, and heat decarbonisation , with an increasing focus on advanced heating systems and underfloor heating technologies . Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team. The Role This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault-finding of renewable energy and low-carbon heating systems across the South West and Wales. Working alongside Project Managers and clients, you'll play an integral role in delivering high-quality installations that support the UK's net-zero ambitions. Key Responsibilities Install, commission and maintain renewable energy and energy efficiency systems, including: Solar PV installations EV charging infrastructure LED lighting upgrades Underfloor heating systems and associated controls Conduct site surveys, inspections and technical assessments across multiple UK locations. Carry out fault diagnosis, repairs and planned maintenance to ensure optimum system performance. Ensure all electrical work complies with BS7671 and current industry regulations. Support the integration and delivery of heat decarbonisation projects and low-carbon heating solutions. Work collaboratively with Project Managers, subcontractors and clients to deliver projects safely, on time and to the highest standards. Complete all commissioning documentation, certification and technical reports accurately. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation. City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Proven experience installing and maintaining renewable technologies, including Solar PV, EV charging and LED lighting. Experience working with underfloor heating systems or other low-carbon heating technologies. A strong understanding of energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation principles. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. A willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays. A full UK driving licence. ECS/CSCS card (desirable).
