Job Details Full Time, Permanent Location: Newark Salary: 31,500.00 to 32,500.00 Job Purpose An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores Operative to join British Sugar at Newark, reporting to the Stores Manager. This role is accountable for contributing to the efficient running of the stores, where a small team manages stocks of engineering parts, consumables, process chemicals and bulk goods. Core Accountabilities Issuing of materials from stores to site personnel Raising purchase orders using JDE software Raising purchase orders using web-based systems Using the factory CMMS system to record goods received Carrying out inventory stock checks, booking-out and managing stock items and consignment stock Carrying out stock checks of factory chemicals and bulk goods, and assisting with planning, ordering and supervision of deliveries Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, and to progress and expedite orders Resolving invoice queries Receipt of goods delivered to stores including offloading using counter-balance forklift Despatch of goods from stores Labelling items and replenishing stock locations Deputising for Stores Manager when required Taking responsibility for housekeeping and maintaining a safe environment Skills, Knowledge & Competencies Highly organised and the ability to prioritise effectively with excellent attention to detail Ability and willingness to become trained to achieve Counterbalance Forklift license Ability to follow company financial and procurement processes with a high level of integrity Ability to take responsibility for own workload and work together with the wider stores team Ability to work safely at all times and be constantly aware of the hazards in a complex industrial environment Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders on site Ability to analyse and problem solve Good IT skills with a good level of literacy and numeracy Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential

Salary Range 55,673.62 to 55,673.62 Job Purpose Shift based mechanical and electrical role, supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site. Working as part of an engineering team supporting process operations, led by the shift performance manager on shift. You will be working a "Panama 2" or 2-2-3 shift pattern which is a 28-day rotating schedule for 24/7 operations, where four teams of employees each work 12-hour shifts in a specific sequence. This sequence consist of two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on, and then three days off, rotating days and nights each time. You will directly report into the Engineering Lead who will assign additional maintenance activities to keep the site fully operational. Core Accountabilities Work as part of the engineering team to carry out maintenance work on machinery and equipment This includes maintenance of packaging, milling, and product handling equipment as well as site infrastructure Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant, mechanical and electrical systems Installation and commissioning of new plant or modifications as appropriate Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance Reporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Skills, Knowledge & Competencies A proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis, maintenance and continuous improvement Experience of working in a lean operating environment, preferably FMCG Experience of working in a operational team of varying disciplines and skill levels ONC / HNC in Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship Understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feed Ability to work as an individual and with groups Ability to effectively balance urgent and important tasks

Salary and Contract Information Salary: 36,041.00 per annum Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract Job Purpose To be an active member of the production team, ensuring that you comply with all the site procedures. Maintaining the safe operation of site packing lines and warehouse to effectively and efficiently manufacture, store and despatch sugar products which meet all quality standards and customer expectations. Core Accountabilities All Roles: To comply with site and business operational, health, safety & environmental and food safety procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work. To carry out basic fault finding and problem solving, working with shift engineers to resolve. Ensure the production and despatch plans are met, to service customer requirements. Escalate issues in a timely manner to Supervisor/Line Manager. Demonstrate to auditors (internal & external) as well as customers the food safe manufacture of finished products. Proactive approach in identification, communication and achievement of continuous improvement. Maintaining housekeeping standards ensuring no food safety risk. Skills, Knowledge & Competencies A current Forklift Licence is required Experience working within a FMCG environment, preferably food. Experience of operating food packaging machinery - bag in box / form & fill / bag & stitch. Awareness of HACCP and GMP practices. Good communication skills including the accurate, legible recording of information.
