Senior Health, Safety and Fire Consultant North of England M62 Corridor / North West / North East Up to circa 70,000 package Permanent We are recruiting a Senior Health, Safety and Fire Consultant for an established specialist consultancy working across health, safety, fire and risk. The role covers the North of England , including the M62 corridor, North West and North East , so it would suit someone based around areas such as Leeds, York, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle or nearby. This is a senior consultancy role with a good mix of client work, technical delivery and project ownership. You will be working with commercial, residential and higher-risk building clients, helping them improve safety management, meet their legal duties and deal with risk in a practical way. The roleYou will lead and deliver health, safety and fire consultancy projects across a varied client base. This will include management system work, inspections, audits, risk reviews, compliance advice and project delivery across commercial and residential environments. You will also be involved in client relationships, proposals, project planning and supporting more junior members of the team where needed. Main duties Deliver health, safety and fire consultancy to clients Design, review and implement health and safety management systems Carry out audits, inspections and risk-based reviews Advise on UK health, safety and fire legislation Work across commercial, residential and higher-risk building environments Manage projects to agreed timescales, quality standards and budgets Build good working relationships with clients and internal teams Support proposals and future project planning Provide technical guidance to junior consultants when required What we are looking forYou will need experience across health, safety and fire , ideally in a consultancy or client-facing advisory role. The role would suit someone who can handle technical detail, speak confidently with clients and write clear, useful reports. Experience with safety management systems, audits, inspections, residential buildings, commercial property or higher-risk environments would be very relevant. Minimum qualificationsApplicants will need: Level 6 health and safety qualification , such as NEBOSH Diploma , NCRQ or equivalent NEBOSH Fire Certificate or Advanced FPA Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor course or above CertIOSH , working towards Chartered membership Membership of a relevant body such as IOSH, IFSM, IFE or IIRSM Full UK driving licence NAFRAR Tier 3 Fire Risk Assessor status would be useful, but is not essential. This role sits within a Technology and Data team and will help shape the way the organisation uses data to improve insight, reporting and decision making. The work is focused on building reliable data foundations, improving automation, strengthening governance and making trusted data easier for colleagues to use across the organisation.
