Are you cosmetic/personal care formulator? Do you have prior, post-graduate formulation experience developing innovative personal care or cosmetic products? Do you want exposure to working with some of the big names and brands in the market? Are you available at relatively short notice and able to work on site in the Wiltshire area? This could well be the one for you! A leading and well known manufacturer within the UK cosmetics industry, with clients that include big brand names are recruiting for a development chemist to cover a 12 month period of leave. You will join a team of experienced professionals and will already have experience allowing you to fit into the team and begin creating innovative formulations from day 1. What you will do Developing and re-formulating formulations inline with customer specifications Ensure quality and claims are validated through testing Working with supplier to identify and source suitable raw materials Work with the process team to support with scale up What you will need Previous cosmetic/personal care formulation experience in industry Strong knowledge of cosmetic science, including ingredient functionality, stability, and interaction with the skin or hair. Solid understanding of product stability testing, quality control, and manufacturing processes Confident and clear communication style with the ability to communicate with people at all levels, both internally and externally

With a science degree qualification and a little post graduate experience in the chemical or personal care industry, you will report to the regulatory specialist and join a small, friendly team of regulatory professionals and R&D Chemists. What you will do Create and maintain formulation and finished goods SDS in multiple languages. Work within multifunctional teams to help ensure products are launched on time, meeting targets Support the Regulatory Specialist as and when required. Updating regs software as required. Support for a products life cycle and any changes to regulatory that may occur during that time. Communicate relevant information to allow NPD teams to ensure regulatory compliance in the relevant sales region. This will include keeping on top of regulations such as CBAM, WEEE and EPR. Setting up new raw materials on the SDS software. What you will need: Minimum degree level in scientific discipline, preferably chemistry. Ideally 1-2 years experience in regulatory admin with experience in EPR/packaging regs desirable. Luckily for you, our client have partnered with Woodstock Recruitment to support them in this hire SPF development will focus as a key pillar in the ambitious growth plan, and will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to make the role their own, being the internal expert, the go to person for all things SPF What you will do: Lead the formulation and development of innovative, globally compliant SPF products. Oversee all aspects of SPF product scale-up, including pilot batches, factory trials, and first production runs. Represent the technical team in customer meetings and presentations, working closely with the Commercial team. Manage and mentor at least one lab technician, supporting their professional development. Train and upskill R&D colleagues in SPF formulation and testing. Collaborate with suppliers and regulatory bodies to stay ahead of industry developments. Drive innovation by monitoring new materials, testing protocols, and competitor activity. Oversee technical transfer projects and ensure seamless handover to manufacturing. Maintain and develop methods using Labsphere UV analysis equipment, including data interpretation and reporting.
