The Company: We are working with a well-established, privately owned electrical contractor who due to controlled growth and a healthy pipeline of work, have asked us to source a Fire & Security Engineer to join their team. They undertake electrical works in the commercial & domestic sector and work with a range of clients on diverse projects in the Education, Health & Public Sector. The Role/You: They are looking to meet with local individuals who have worked as a Fire & Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience. You will be based in or able to travel to Greater Manchester on a daily basis. You will have Electrical or otherwise relevant training / qualifications in the servicing of emergency lighting systems to BS 5266. FIA or equivalent units 1 and 5 fire alarm design and fire alarm maintenance as a minimum, ideally FireQual or equivalent level 3 qualification for maintenance of fire detection systems. You must be able to demonstrate competency in routine maintenance, fault finding and small works across fire, intruder, access control and CCTV systems. All relevant qualifications, training and CPD certificates available for observation before or at interview stage. They operate across the electrical, fire and electronic security sectors and successful candidates would need to be able to readily work with core products from- Texecom, Pyronix, Honeywell Galaxy, Advanced Fire, Protec Fire, CTec, HikVision, ConceptPro, PAC, Paxton and Videx. Candidate would be required to join the callout rota which is currently a week's cover per cycle, 1 in 4 weeks. The Role/You: They are now in a position to recruit a Project Manager to lead one of their schemes in Birmingham. This is a site-based role which requires flexibility and you ll be willing to work away. They are looking to meet with individuals who have worked as a Project Manager on healthcare and education schemes for a main contractor. The role is mainly office based (home working is also available if required). Generally, you would be looking after 3/4 jobs at a time; duties would include; Placing sub-contracts orders with a small pool of sub-contractors and doing cost to complete forecasts at the end of each month. Managing cash flow, risks and opportunities and making sure the financial side is good and creating profitability. Making accurate and detailed monthly cost reports. Preparing and agreeing on monthly valuations, including forecasts into the final accounts. Maintain strong relationships with the client and the design team to ensure that the project is going as planned. Manage project costs with the project manager and achieve high quality standards and preserve health and safety. You: They would like to recruit a Quantity Surveyor who has previously worked on schemes similar to those described above. Be able to commute to their office in Greater Manchester. You ll have a minimum 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying. They would like a Quantity Surveyor who has stability in their CV showing evidence that they have worked in a role for a number of years. General responsibilities will include: Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes. Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities. Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Manager. Good working knowledge and application of Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement. Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account. Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts. To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures. Maintain close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project. Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety. You: They are keen to speak with experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors who have worked on similar schemes. They would also be keen to speak with Project Quantity Surveyors who are looking for the next step up. You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily Most of your time will be spent on-site. You will be IT literate. Operations Manager West Yorkshire £80,000 £100,000 + Car + Benefits I m recruiting on behalf of a highly respected fit out contractor who specialise in project management of high end development schemes for blue chip clients. Having recently been awarded a contract for a major client in the retail / leisure sector, they are looking to appoint an experienced Operations / Project Manager to run the account, initially managing the properties and then help grow into full store builds and fit out / development. The Role; Northern based, responsible for a new UK-wide Facilities / Property Management contract for a global client starting small but scaling into full store fit out and rollout. Involved from initial pricing of a range of contracts across the leisure / retails sector to delivery of high-value, high-spec fit-out projects UK wide. Operate at senior level, liaising directly with decision-makers and ensuring best-in-class delivery. The Candidate; Experienced in the retail / leisure sector with a background in project management and fit-out (ideally premium or high-end environments). Commercially astute, client facing with a hands on approach. Ideally West Yorkshire based within commutable distance of the company s office, spending a couple of days a week in the office with the remainder on site visits and working from home.
