A South London Council is looking for a Tree Inspector to carry out a Visual Tree Assessment on groups of trees in their borough. This will involve assessing the species and allocating a risk rating and it is expected to take circa 6 months but it could roll on. Candidates need the Lantra PTI, and at least a level 2 in arboriculture, so this would be great experience for an Arborist looking to move off the tools into a technical role. A driving licence would also be preferable. In return a PAYE rate of circa 20.58/hour is offered, which is c. 39k pa. This is a temporary contract for a minimum of 6 months with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter.

The role will involve working in a team and undertaking a wide variety of tree work including; ground-based chainsaw work; aerial tree surgery; pruning and identifying basic trees and shrubs and plant health. Candidates should have certificates for aerial use of a chainsaw and aerial rescue, a full UK driving licence, and ideally some industry experience.
