You will be joining their arboriculutre/forestry department ensuring that safety, environment and forestry are integrated into all aspects of the work. The role of Forestry Professional Trainee will involve developing and maintaining processes and systems that ensure that technical forestry and tree protection issues are effectively integrated across all of our Client's work, and is based at their office in north Wales. This role would be ideal for someone who is practical, observant and interested in wood, safety and outdoor work, and who wants to develop into a future leader and who wants to work effectively with technical and ecological teams to support tree management and the safe and professional protection of the soft estate. Main duties: - Undertake and supervise surveys, reports and technical carpentry to BS5837 and BS3998 standards across various teams. - Manage budgets related to technical forestry issues on the Strategic Road Network. - Collaborate with internal teams and with the Welsh Government on forestry and tree protection issues. - Assist with tree safety inspections when necessary. - Management and use of specialist environmental equipment such as PICUS, residrill and other inspection equipment. - Spend time in the Client's other units/teams to understand the wider operations of the organization. Requirements: - at least a 2:2 in arboriculture, forestry, or related field. - full UK driving licence - fluency in both spoken and written Welsh and English, being able to converse, discuss, present and answer questions in both languagues This is a full time role, which is expected to last 3 years.
