Our renowned client is looking to recruit a Health and Safety professional on an initial 6 month contract Health and Safety Consultant Central London - Hybrid £48 - £53 per hour We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Health and Safety Lead to take full ownership of health and safety compliance. This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards. You will act as the named Departmental Safety Officer (DSO), championing a culture of safety and risk awareness, managing incidents and audits, and ensuring consistent delivery of training, documentation, and emergency procedures. Key Responsibilities Act as the central contact point for all Health & Safety matters. Service and chair the Safety Committee, ensuring compliance actions are tracked and resolved. Deliver regular performance and compliance reports to leadership. Lead on mandatory statutory assessments (DSE, PEEPs, Risk Assessments). Maintain and update all safety documentation and risk registers. Investigate and respond to all incidents reported via RiskNET. Ensure delivery of staff inductions and refresher training for safety-related topics. Coordinate with departments to ensure risk assessment and DSE compliance. Liaise with departments to maintain safe environments. Support safe use of all facilities and ensure equipment is PAT-tested and logged. Procure necessary H&S equipment and supplies in alignment with faculty needs. Requirements Proven experience in a senior health and safety role, ideally within a complex organisation. Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation, emergency planning, and risk assessment. Confident in leading safety committees, managing audits, and delivering training. As Project Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role within our senior engineering team, overseeing the engineering elements of our integrated automation projects. You ll ensure that all designs, documentation, safety calculations, and compliance requirements are met, while also supporting pre-sales, developing your team, and collaborating cross-functionally across Controls, Procurement, Installations, and Project Management. This is a critical, hands-on leadership position ideal for a proactive individual with a strong mechanical design background, technical rigour, and experience managing complex engineering projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering delivery of integrated projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, to specification, and to the required quality and technical standards. Ensure all design work is completed and documented appropriately to meet UKCA/CE marking requirements, including the creation of technical manuals and stakeholder documentation. Validate all critical design calculations to ensure safe systems in line with relevant safety and technical standards. Collaborate closely with colleagues in Controls Engineering, Procurement, Installations, and Project Management to provide joined-up, maintainable solutions for our clients. Support pre-sales activities by offering technical expertise, cost estimates, and project timelines. Champion continuous improvement within the Project Engineering team including development of designs, processes, team capabilities, and ways of working. Our client is currently looking to recruit an expereinced Machinist to join their busy team. The successful candidate will be working in support of a team setting and controlling the cutting activities over the companies CNC cutting centres. This will also include working with development parts building new programs and training and supporting operatives in the maintenance of machined forms on production parts. Expereince with working on XYZ lathes would be advantegous. Main duties include reviewing drawings, taking measurments for cutting materials including performingroutine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
