UAS Avionics Engineer Sick of working on future tech that never leaves the lab? You know the drill endless prototypes, PowerPoints, and promises but no aircraft actually flying. If you want to build systems that end up in the sky rather than in a drawer, keep reading. Here s what s different: They re actually putting unmanned aircraft into the real world. Proper platforms. Proper flight testing. Proper engineering ownership. No corporate barriers, no design-by-committee, no waiting 18 months for approval to change a connector. The reality: You ll take charge of the avionics that make next-generation aircraft work. Control systems, navigation, comms links, power distribution the lot. You ll shape architectures, define requirements, and build hardware/software interfaces that survive real flight campaigns, not just simulation. Expect hands-on integration, hardware-in-the-loop testing, instrumentation setup, telemetry configuration, and supporting test flights on site. You ll be deep in the engineering not observing it from a conference room. You ll also work directly with suppliers on hardware selection and qualification, design electrical systems and ground control hardware, and help shape the onboard and offboard tools that keep each aircraft safe in the air. What you get: Competitive salary Flexible working options Pension scheme A chance to build aircraft that actually fly , not theory that gathers dust A seat at the table shaping the future of unmanned flight You ll love this if you: Have 3+ years in avionics or UAS systems and want real ownership Understand GNSS/INS, telemetry, CAN/UART, RF systems, redundancy and know how these behave when the aircraft isn t playing nice Can design PCB/electrical systems and get stuck into embedded software or RTOS-based middleware Enjoy solving problems that don t come with a handbook Want to work in a place where future air mobility means flight test days, not buzzwords Bonus points for: PX4, ArduPilot, Pixhawk experience Simulation/HIL work Understanding BVLOS, safety cases, or regulatory frameworks Based full-time on-site at a UK aviation test and development facility, with occasional travel to test sites. Sound like the kind of engineering you actually want to be doing? Apply now.

Embedded Firmware Engineer Medical Devices Hybrid (Remote + some office work in Cheshire) Fed up with "agile sprints" where nothing actually ships? Here's something different. Medical device manufacturer needs an embedded firmware engineer who can work with real code, not just talk about it. The work: Life-support equipment. Oxygen systems, breathing devices - stuff that actually matters. You'll be debugging and improving legacy C code on memory-constrained microcontrollers. RTOS or bare-metal. Adding new features - wireless comms, connectivity - without breaking what already works. This isn't "let's rewrite everything because the last guy didn't use our preferred design pattern." It's pragmatic engineering. Make it work, make it right, make it fast. Regulated environment (IEC 62304, 60601), but if you're coming from aerospace or automotive, they'll train you on the medical side. The reality: Small R&D team. Hands-on lab work with proper test equipment - oscilloscopes, climatic chambers, gas testing rigs. Not just staring at a screen all day. Hybrid working - occasional travel to Cheshire when needed. But as long as the projects get completed, the Manager is flexible in terms of where you work. What you get: £70k + benefits. The satisfaction of knowing your code keeps people alive. No corporate buzzword bingo. You'll love this if you: Write solid C for embedded systems and don't need to be told why malloc() is a bad idea in safety-critical firmware Have 5+ years in a regulated industry - aerospace, automotive, medical, defence Enjoy the detective work of legacy code - understanding why it was built that way, and how to improve it without breaking everything Prefer solving real problems over architectural purity Want to work on medical devices without the bureaucracy of big pharma Interested? Apply now. No cover letter needed. Just tell me what embedded systems you've worked on and what regulatory standards you've dealt with.

Fed up with being stuck in the same old routine while innovation happens around you? Here's what's different: You'll be the bridge between brilliant ideas and real products that actually make it to market. No endless meetings about meetings you'll be hands-on, making things happen, working directly with customers who genuinely value what you bring to the table. The reality: You're joining a growing manufacturing business as their NPI Engineer. You'll take new products from concept through to full production, working with cross-functional teams to solve real engineering challenges. Think feasibility reviews, tooling design, CMM measurement, PPAP documentation, and prototype development. Plus you'll be the go-to person when customers have tricky manufacturing questions. What you get: £30-40k (based on what you bring), proper engineering challenges that stretch you, direct customer interaction, and the satisfaction of seeing your work actually make it into production. No corporate bureaucracy slowing you down. You'll love this if you've got 3+ years of solid engineering and fabrication experience, can read technical drawings like they're bedtime stories, and genuinely enjoy the puzzle of making things work better. Bonus points if you've wrestled with CMM machines, know your way around 3D CAD, or have battle scars from APQP/PPAP projects. Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk This won't hang around they need someone who can hit the ground running. Interested? Drop me a line.
