Prospero Health and Social Care are actively seeking experienced staff to support Children and Young Adults in Wakefield and surrounding areas. Everyday is different and you will face new challenges, we need staff members with a can-do attitude, that are willing to go above and beyond for the children in their care to better their lives, promoting independence, being a role model and achieving a successful home environment for them to live, in line with local authority care plan. Please see the requirements below: - 12 months paid experience within the health and social care sector (working with children and young adults) - Previous experience in a support worker, youth work, or care setting - Flexible around travel arrangements - Able to work flexibly, including weekends and night shifts when required - Resilient and empathetic, with a strong commitment to helping vulnerable young people - NVQ Level 3 in children and young people (desired but not essential) - Social Care registered Experience: Children and Young People Support: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred) Work Location: In person Why apply? Please note, we are currently offering flexible/part-time roles rather than full-time positions. Key Requirements: 12 months of paid UK experience in the health and social care sector - at least 2 references Proven experience working with children in the UK Flexibility to travel within the area and adapt to varying shift patterns, including weekends and night shifts - good availability Resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable young people NVQ Level 3 in children and young people is preferred but not mandatory Must be registered with Social Care - DBS in the updated service What are we expecting you to do as a support worker: - Ensure a supportive experience for children, especially in sensitive situations like post-domestic abuse/neglect - Write reports every session analysing the attitudes and interactions - Monitor children's mood and make sure they are safe at all times Additional Details: Driving licence is preferred This role requires in-person attendance Why Join Us?
