1. Inspection & Verification Conduct receiving inspections of mechanical materials and components (e.g., pipes, valves, pumps, structural steel) against purchase orders and material certifications. Perform in-process inspections during fabrication, welding, and assembly. Carry out final inspections before system handover, ensuring all work is complete and correct. Witness and verify testing such as Hydrostatic Tests, Pneumatic Tests, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). 2. Documentation & Compliance Review and approve inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) . Check material certifications for traceability (e.g., to BS EN (phone number removed).1/3.2). Verify welding procedures (WPS) , welder qualifications (WPQR) , and NDT reports . Ensure compliance with key standards: Piping: ASME B31.3, BS EN 13480 Pressure Equipment: PED 2014/68/EU, PD 5500 Structural Steel: BS EN 1090 Welding: BS EN ISO 3834, ASME Section IX Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, tracking defects from identification to close-out.

Key Responsibilities 1. Material Preparation & Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including General Arrangement (GA), detail, and isometric drawings. Mark out materials for cutting and shaping using templates, scribers, or CNC programming. Select appropriate materials (e.g., carbon steel S355, stainless steel 316L, aluminium). 2. Fabrication & Forming: Operate heavy machinery to cut and shape metal: Thermal Cutting: Plasma, oxy-fuel, and laser cutters. Mechanical Cutting: Guillotines, band saws. Forming: Press brakes, rollers, and plate bending machines to form plates into cylinders, cones, etc. Perform thermal straightening to correct distortions in metal. 3. Assembly & Fitting: Assemble components using jigs, fixtures, and tack welds to ensure precise alignment before final welding. Fit and align large sections and plate work to tight tolerances (often within 2mm). Use measuring equipment (verniers, levels, laser alignment tools) to check accuracy.
