Experienced Mechanical Pipe Fitter Required We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Pipe Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis, working on industrial pipework projects across the UK. Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and repair pipework systems for mechanical services (e.g., steam, water, gas) - Interpret drawings, specifications, and diagrams - Fabricate and install pipework components - Test and commission pipework systems - Work safely at heights and in confined spaces Requirements: - NVQ in Pipe Fitting or equivalent experience - 3+ years' experience in mechanical pipe fitting - Pipework certification (e.g., AWS, CSWIP) - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Key aspects of the role: Confined Space Training: Ground workers in this role will have completed specialized training courses, such as the City & Guilds Confined Spaces or EUSR Confined Spaces courses, to gain the necessary knowledge and skills. Safe Systems of Work: They will be familiar with and follow established safe systems of work, including the use of permit-to-work systems for confined spaces. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: They will be able to identify potential hazards in confined spaces, such as lack of oxygen, toxic gases, or engulfment risks, and implement appropriate control measures. Equipment Use: They will be trained in the use of specialized equipment for confined space entry, such as gas detectors, ventilation equipment, and rescue apparatus. Emergency Procedures: They will be prepared to respond to emergencies within a confined space and know how to initiate rescue procedures

- Site Preparation: Preparing the site for tunnelling work, including setting up equipment and ensuring safety measures are in place - Material Handling: Moving and handling materials, resources, and components by mechanically assisted or manual means - Equipment Operation: Operating powered units, tools, and pedestrian plant, machinery, and equipment specific to tunnelling operations - Teamwork: Working individually and as part of a team to install and remove tunnelling plant, components, machinery, and equipment - Safety Compliance: Following technical requirements and safety procedures associated with different tunnelling processes and methods The Role Will require tunnelling and shaft works Must hold CSCS card and manual handling. Must be physically fit and have experience working in the tunnelling industry or relative major infrastructure works. Be able to carry out general labouring duties and follow instruction in a safe manner. Work effectively in a team and follow site safety procedures, permits and work to specific method statements.

Key Responsibilities 1. Material Preparation & Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including General Arrangement (GA), detail, and isometric drawings. Mark out materials for cutting and shaping using templates, scribers, or CNC programming. Select appropriate materials (e.g., carbon steel S355, stainless steel 316L, aluminium). 2. Fabrication & Forming: Operate heavy machinery to cut and shape metal: Thermal Cutting: Plasma, oxy-fuel, and laser cutters. Mechanical Cutting: Guillotines, band saws. Forming: Press brakes, rollers, and plate bending machines to form plates into cylinders, cones, etc. Perform thermal straightening to correct distortions in metal. 3. Assembly & Fitting: Assemble components using jigs, fixtures, and tack welds to ensure precise alignment before final welding. Fit and align large sections and plate work to tight tolerances (often within 2mm). Use measuring equipment (verniers, levels, laser alignment tools) to check accuracy.
