The Role We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Maintenance Manager/Planner to oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities in our manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing plant performance, and minimizing downtime through effective planning, scheduling and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance. Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all production and support equipment. Create detailed maintenance schedules and allocate labour and resources effectively. Use a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, asset history, parts inventory, and maintenance KPIs. Coordinate and schedule planned outages, shutdowns, and overhauls. Team Leadership and Supervision. Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians and contractors. Assign tasks based on skill sets and priority and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations for the maintenance team. Monitor equipment condition and performance, and initiate root cause analyses for failures. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment uptime and process efficiency. Recommend and manage continuous improvement projects related to maintenance and reliability. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of critical spare parts and tools. Work with procurement to ensure timely ordering of parts and services. Manage maintenance budget, including labour, materials and contractors. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lockout/tagout protocols. Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations as required. The Person Previous maintenance management or planning experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, TPM, and reliability-cantered maintenance (RCM) is a plus. Primarily day shift with flexibility to respond to emergencies during off-hours or weekends. The Job you ll do The Turner is responsible for the production of components from drawings, utilising various sizes of manual lathes. If other skills are available such as manual milling, slotting, vertical & horizontal boring and grinding, this would be a bonus, but is not essential for this role. Working with tolerances up to 0.02mm, the suitable applicant must be fully conversant in both metric and imperial measurements. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team which sees a great variety of components pass through the Repair Cell, so good teamwork and machining capabilities are essential to achieve the best results in a growing business. The successful candidate will be a time served Machinist. Turning/Vertical boring to drawing or instruction, general tolerances +/-0.1mm . Final machining of product to drawing or instruction, tolerances 0.02mm. Milling, both horizontal and vertical working to similar tolerances as above. Final fitting and dressing of components prior to dispatch. About You Experience working in engineering/production environment before and ideally within a manual machine shop. Good organisational skills. Ability to read engineering drawings is essential. Good communication skills, verbal and written. Knowledge of geometric tolerances is advantageous. The Company Our client is a specialist Engineering company. Due to an exciting period of expansion and investment they now have a new position for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The Role This position plays a pivotal role in producing technical solutions to complex engineering projects, the main focus being on providing a full reverse engineering package for parts. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager whilst supporting a busy production team. The Design Engineer will capture detail from equipment via various 3D scanning methods, then create models leading to 2D drawings for manufacture. Use 3D scanning technology to create 3D CAD models from complex sample. Use portable CMM (Faro Arm) to create 3D models. Use first principal measuring to create 3D models. Preparing design documentation for production (component design, technical drawings). Working closely with other departments to provide relevant information as required. Contributing to design reviews. The Person A background in mechanical design is essential preferably. Reverse engineering experience beneficial. Ideally you will be degree qualified. You will have experience of working with cross functional teams. You must have 3D design experience preferably with Solidworks. Must be able to perform hand calculations.
