An opportunity has arisen for an efficient and dynamic individual to join our team in the role of Dispatch Operative. The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of our products. In addition to this, our ideal candidate would also have the ability to operate our pallet and reach trucks as and when required. Responsibilities Include: Loading and unloading products from incoming and outgoing vehicles with the use of powered trucks, consolidating and storing them in the appropriate locations or delivering to relevant departments/areas. Operating of powered trucks (PPT and Reach) as and when required Working a cold store environment (with temperatures ranging from 0-5 degrees Celsius) Accurately picking products ready to be palletised and dispatched Operating a handheld scanner to ensure data is accurately recorded in our internal database Repetitive manual handling of products (up to 18kg) Operating a clean as you go procedure to keep the dispatch area clean and tidy Maintaining excellent levels of hygiene and health and safety standards Reporting any damaged or missing goods, non-conformances or accidents to relevant managers to ensure appropriate action is taken Our perfect Dispatch Operative would have: Current and in-date PPT and Reach truck licenses (desirable) Previous experience of working in a warehouse or stores based environment would be an advantage Understanding of and adherence to health and safety protocols and food hygiene standards The ability to interpret and follow written and spoken instructions Comfortable with a physical role where manual handling is a frequent requirement Respect for others and values diversity; happy to listen and work as part of a team A can-do attitude with a flexible and dynamic approach The ability to use own initiative and thrives under pressure The ability to learn how to operate our handheld scanners The hours you would work: A 5-on, 2-off shift pattern, comprising 45 hours per week (overtime is possible/allowed if production requires it). Working hours: 14 00, with flexibility required. Rate of pay: £13.73 per hour for the 45 hours, with prospects for growth, advancement to the next level, and salary increases. (1.25 the regular hourly rate if the total number of hours worked exceeds 45 hours in a workweek.) The purpose of this role is to ensure our goods are transported both safely and securely. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to UK driving laws and legislation and ensuring respect for the environment and public. Please note, vehicles are allocated on a job basis and therefore you will not necessarily be assigned a permanent truck to operate. Responsibilities Include: Ensuring all aspects safety and customer site rules are adhered to. Ensuring all transport legislation including driver s hours and vehicle defect reporting is adhered to. Taking responsibility for the security of any products carried whilst in transit. This can include long distance journeys which may mean spending occasional nights away from home. To drive in a safe and economic matter in line with UK driving laws and legislation. Carrying out various trailer work; including chilled refrigerators, curtain siders, low loaders and containers. Ensuring all delivery and collection notes and paperwork are correct. Providing accurate paperwork relevant to debriefing of allocated jobs. Providing an exceptional standard of service to our customers and colleagues. Operating a forklift or pump truck as and when required to load and/or unload vehicles. Maintaining cleanliness of company vehicles and wearing any PPE as required.
