Legal Technologist - legal AI, document automation, legal workflow platforms The Opportunity A leading UK-based law firm is seeking a Legal Technologist to join its growing Legal Technology team as part of an ambitious digital transformation programme. With a strong reputation across corporate, private wealth, disputes, real estate, and finance, the firm is focused on embedding innovation and enhancing client value through smarter, technology-enabled legal services. This is a hands-on and strategic role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with legal professionals, and driving meaningful change through legal technology. The Role As a Legal Technologist, you will collaborate with lawyers and business teams to design and deliver technology-driven solutions that improve legal processes, increase efficiency, and elevate client service. You will play a key role in implementing document automation, AI-powered workflows, and firmwide legal tech initiatives. Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted advisor to legal teams, leading requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and process analysis Identify and deliver opportunities for automation, efficiency, and innovation in legal service delivery Support and enhance the firm's legal technology strategy, including document automation and AI tools Design and implement scalable frameworks for document automation and legal workflows Develop AI-driven use cases across practice areas, including contract review, due diligence, and research Manage end-to-end project life cycles from concept through to implementation and ongoing support Collaborate with change and training teams to drive adoption and user engagement Deliver training and provide ongoing support to legal and business services teams Maintain and improve the legal tech stack, evaluating new tools and integrations Monitor usage, gather feedback, and continuously refine solutions Contribute to innovation initiatives by identifying trends and benchmarking against industry developments Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in a legal technology or similar role Background in legal practice, legal operations, or professional services (desirable but not essential) Experience with legal AI tools and platforms, and their practical application Familiarity with document automation tools and legal workflow platforms Strong understanding of legal processes and experience in process mapping and optimisation Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills Comfortable working with data, APIs, and system integrations Experience delivering training and supporting technology adoption About You Passionate about legal technology and innovation Curious about legal workflows and motivated to improve how legal services are delivered Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities Collaborative mindset with a user-focused approach High attention to detail and commitment to quality What's on Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Hybrid working model (typically 3 days in office, 2 remote) Generous annual leave with option to purchase additional days Private medical insurance, pension scheme, and life assurance Wellbeing support including fitness sessions, GP access, and mental health resources Career development and training opportunities Inclusive, collaborative, and forward-thinking working environment
